The modified DS systems we’ve featured in the past have mostly been from Europe or the United States. While what we’ve posted has been great, it is always fun to present something different.

YYJoy, a China-based Nintendo fansite, has a blossoming community of DS Lite modders (Some of their other pursuits are a bit questionable though.). The alterations they’ve made to their cases may seem simple–custom decals printed and fitted onto the DS systems–but the results are no less praiseworthy for it.

Some are even nice, but I think that they are nothing to be shocked with. I still prefer mods which are more than a sticker. Like Kotomi’s.

C’mon, the Apple one is not a “case mod”. Apple used to include those white stickers with every Mac. Putting it on the DS is hardly a mod.

NeNG is beautiful…if i think to all the crappy DS Lite Limited Edition design, well, Nintendo should call some of these guys…

I’d like to make one like haojz’s. It looks awesome. It has some awesome art on it. I love it. Will done one tomorrow/later ;-D

If I can remove the transparent plastic on top of the DS(you guys call it ‘glossy’, I think it’s a stupid term) I can put a sticker or draw something on the white plastic and it will never get erased.

They all look cool (except for the iPod one.. Funny though).
Love the art, I’ve never really been a fan of those ‘decals’, but these seem pretty nice ^-^

Does anyone know what kind of plastic protectors those are? If I could get my hands on a couple pairs I could do a *lot* with my DS.

Yes, I do know what those are and where you get them, Cochese!

They are clear cases with soft silicon inserts (all jelly like). Between them, and on the inside of the hard clear plastic, you can put wahtever you want. When you order these cases, it comes with two silicon inserts and one clear plastic casing so that you can alternate colors (mine came with pink and orange, for example). Check them out here, they are fairly inexpensive:
