Joystiq’s Kyle Orland put things perfectly, so I’ll let him do the talking here:
It’s not everyday that a 160+ year old magazine with circulation of over a million readers talks about your system. So even though today’s Economist story on the Wii offers very little new information, it’s still important as a reflection of the buzz the system is getting in financial circles.
There you have it, folks — yet further evidence that The Force is truly with Nintendo this time around. Will that equate to the ability to turn PS3 and Xbox360 into Bantha fodder? We’ll have to wait and see

We’ll = Wii’ll*

Alright. I’m gonna say it.
I WANT A CONSOLE WAR!
I’ve never been so irationally devoted to a single console as I am with the Wii. I’ve never *rooted* for a console before. But as the next gen really starts to heat up this November, the Wii is the by-and-far biggest bright point in the future of gaming. PS3 and 360 have some amazing offerings… But the Wii just feels like *progress* — not pretty rehash.
Also, gold star for saying “bantha fodder”!

Well, I read the first paragraph and that put me off then and there.
I do know what all of those terms mean and what they do, and I am not someone who is puzzled by technology. I am awaiting a Wii however, contrary to what the article states.
Blanket statements just piss me off.

If I were X-Box or PS3 I’d have a bad feeling about this, THEIR’S TOO MANY WII’S! How many Star Wars refrences can we fit? I dunno. >.> But anyway good to see Nintendo getting some praise from all walks of life.

I could see Kaz Hirai saying “It’s a TRAP!”
Erm, heh, anyway…I haven’t really proscribed much to the whole console war thing for years (back in the SNES/Genesis days) having realized all systems have some worthwile games usually, but this about the closest I’ve been to wanting one in a long time. I haven’t been as excited as this about a new console launch for some time, and as excited about the system itself.

We all need to do the Wii loud publicity, to our relatives, friends, etc.

Go Wii!

I want only two consoles on the market similar to the cola wars. I want Nintendo Wii to be like the NES and Xbox 360 similar to the Sega Master System.
Sony fanboys should just pick either a Wii or 360, because their console is doomed. They should just make software for both Wii and 360. Phil Harrison if your reading this, be submissive to Nintendo and Microsoft, you girly man!!!
Nintendo and Micrsoft will be the driving force of the video game industry. Sony Sucks!
