Now, this is a cool project. Rose Red, a user on Crafster, decided to make a DS Lite case based on the classic NES controller. With a lot of free time and a cross-stiching kit, she managed to make one nice-looking case.
For those “do-it-yourself”-ers out there, Rose Red included detailed instructions for making your own. If I had any needlepoint skills of my own (and more free time), I’d give this project a try.
Have any of you readers made your own cases? Let us know, and we’ll show the best ones off to the world.

Saw this in the NewsGet. Totally rad.

Adorable! I just got a box of Nintendo Power Mints lastnight, and the resemblance of this case and the controller is priceless.
I think if it were shaped like an NES that could be amusing though, if only to open the loading bay and puill out a DS
Would probably get too sizable…

Very cool. They need to have some sort of needle point skills game for the DS using the stylus so that I can learn to do that and make a case of my own.

Carin, a friend of mine got me a tin of Nintendo Power mints as well. I quickly dumped the terrible mints and now I have a cool DS games case that looks like a classic NES controller!

A needlepoint DS game would be similar to mario picross, my number one vote for a nintendo remake that, sadly, will never get made.

Existon, after I showed my girlfriend the mints, the site they were displayed on described how many games they could hold… My current purse is only kept because it has a neat compartment for my DS and GBA games. However, once I empty out both of these (savoring the minty goodness - they are good mints!) I’m going to do jsut the same

Hi! I’m Rosered from craftster and I just wanted to say thank you for mentioning my project on 4cr! I’m a longtime reader of this blog, although I’ve never spoke up on the forums before. This is one of my favourite blogsites, so I was really surprised to see my pictures up over here! Thanks again! Cheers to 4cr!
