Despite the cartridge shortages in preparation for Pokemon, Final Fantasy III continues the march to a million units. They are still selling roughly 90% of every shipment, so the game has plenty of steam left in it. Three of the DS titles ““ NSMB, Animal Crossing, and Brain Training 2 ““ are now well over three million copies sold. The original Brain Training should reach that in a matter of weeks.

Sales remain fairly consistent for hardware across the board. Look, the Xbox even sold an extra unit this week. Next week’s figures should be slightly more interesting.

We also have some more reliable figures for Pokemon. The initial shipment was around 1.2 million units. According to this blog, Diamond sold around 520,000 and Pearl sold around 420,000 on the first day. Another shipment of 900,000 units was shipped the day after. The figure of 500,000 DS Lites on that first day also seems to be true. We’ll find out for sure next week.

UK Software (September 17-23)
1. Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy
2. Just Cause
3. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2007
4. LMA Manager 2007
5. Cars
6. Brain Training
7. Dead Rising
8. Saint’s Row
9. The Godfather
10. New Super Mario Bros.

Several new titles made it into the top ten this week, but our two DS titles managed to hold onto their positions. Lego Star Wars II also continues to sell astonishingly well in the UK. The Xbox 360 is putting on a strong showing in general.

Irish Software (September 17-23)
1. Lego Star Wars II
2. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07
3. Just Cause
4. Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories
5. Cars
6. The Matrix: Path of Neo
7. Tekken: Dark Resurrection
8. The Godfather
9. Pro Evolution Soccer 5
10. New Super Mario Bros.

Once again, the Irish charts almost mirror the UK ones. The Matrix: Path of Neo continues to oddly well here, is it on sale?

German Software (September 18-25)
# Name (System)
1. SingStar Deutsch Rock-Pop (PS2)
2. Brain Training (DS)
3. New Super Mario Bros. (NDS)

7. Tekken: Dark Resurrection (PSP)
8. Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (PS2)
9. Gran Turismo 4 Platinum (PS2)
10. Suikoden V (PS2)

Surprisingly, the DS has dropped down to only three of the top ten slots this week as two new titles join the ranks. It’s nice to see Suikoden V selling well in any country.

Swedish Software (September 18-25)
# Name (System)
01. Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (PS2)
02. World of Warcraft (PC)
03. The Sims 2: Glamour Life Stuff (PC)

07. Battlefield 2 (PC)
08. The Sims 2 (PC)
09. Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (GCN)
10. Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (PC)

While the DS hasn’t quite penetrated the Swedish market, it is nice to see a GCN game on any of these lists. The new Lego Star Wars game is just tearing up the charts across Europe.

Finish Software (September 18-25)
# Name (System)
1. NHL 07 (PC, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, PSP)
2. Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (PC, PS2, Xbox, Xbox360, PSP, DS, GBA)

8. Sims 2 (PC, PS2, Xbox, GC, DS, PSP, GBA)
9. Dead Rising (Xbox 360)
10. Saints Row (Xbox 360)

Likewise, the DS isn’t ruling the charts in Finland. The same games seem to be doing very well all across the European Union.

French Software (September 18-25)
# Name (System)
1. New Super Mario Bros. (DS)
2. Brain Training (DS)
3. LEGO Star Wars 2 (PS2)
4. Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

7. Dead Rising (Xbox 360)
8. The Sims 2 (DS)
9. Tekken: Dark Resurrection (PSP)
10. Just Cause (Xbox 360)

The DS returns to holding a large chunk of the French charts this week. The Xbox 360 is also doing very well for itself here.

That’s it for this week. Next week we’ll get definitive Pokemon figures, which should prove rather interesting.
