Yeah, I guess we do need the countdown! We’ll get on that.
And Eric, you deserve a raise. Great job keeping 4cr up to date!
Nick - 09.14.06 12:22 pm
Oh man, Trauma Center: Second Opinion…. I HOPE it’s a Launch title, now I won’t have to choose between it and Twilight Princess anymore.
Noel - 09.14.06 12:28 pm
TP looks next-gen. Not sure about the textures in MP3. Hope they improve.
Jon C - 09.14.06 12:30 pm
Wow, those Battalion Wars 2 sceens look too good!
Heltron - 09.14.06 12:31 pm
A lot of the models look rough around the edges, literally. Is that just the way the images are taken/being saved or do the games have poor antialiasing or what?
Ross - 09.14.06 12:41 pm
So glad to hear that the Metroid Prime 3 controls are now perfect - reconfirms my belief that Wii is perfect for FPS. I hope they share this knowledge with the Red Steel team.
word. - 09.14.06 12:48 pm
Wario Ware and Wii Sports look like they will provide ours of multiplayer fun. I can’t wait.
Red Steel looks a lot better than I had anticipated; the graphics are great.
I wonder if Nintendo delayed Metroid for online compatibility… One can only hope.
And the more I read about/see BWii, the more excited I get for it.
Nov. 19th can’t get here fast enough. Damn.
Lynx - 09.14.06 12:49 pm
Sorry for the double post, but excuse my idiocy. *ours = hours.
Lynx - 09.14.06 12:49 pm
Word, where does it say the Metroid Prime controls are now perfect?
Grant - 09.14.06 1:21 pm
Everyone, check out this page. It has all the slides and videos from the Japan presentation. You can see how the Opera browser looks (pages 8 and 9), among other things.

This IGN page actually has the videos lined up nicely: http://wii.ign.com/articles/732/732689p1.html
Grant - 09.14.06 1:32 pm
Yanipheonu has died from a massive heart attack from viewing this post.
yanipheonu - 09.14.06 1:43 pm
Word, I found the Metroid Prime thing. It sounds AWESOME. They have new videos up for it too.
Grant - 09.14.06 1:47 pm
OMG I want that Fire Emblem game!!!
yanipheonu - 09.14.06 2:00 pm
Holy crap. WII INFORMATION OVERLOAD.
Jon - 09.14.06 2:00 pm
Graphics look great!!
Alex - 09.14.06 2:07 pm
MUST PLAY ZELDA… It’s unbelievable…. You see Zelda, you’re excited… Then, you don’t see it for awhile, and your kind of like, ahhh, I can wait… And then… BAM… New screens come out and I’m drooling all over again… The Wii is mine and Zelda is MINE… I can’t lie to myself, there are a ton of great games come out from a bunch of different companies, but his is by far my most anticipated!!!
Matthew - 09.14.06 2:09 pm
I’ll shake a Wiimote at it
Harukio - 09.14.06 2:47 pm
Why the F is Link right handed in those screens?
G - 09.14.06 2:59 pm
Because now more than ever, Link is supposed to represent “you”. He most likely -can- be left handed, if you are. You swing the wiimote to swing Link’s sword, so having it in your dominant hand is a must.
RakibikiJiten - 09.14.06 3:07 pm
Does the cutscene in IGN’s MP3 video remind anyone of Firefly?
Maybe I just watch that show too much.
Duncan - 09.14.06 3:33 pm
TYTY: LOL, I was too.
And in tech class right after lunch.
retro - 09.14.06 3:58 pm
Did they swap Links sword hand in TP or am I going mad? I guess they had to if you now have direct control over the sword and the pointer is always in the right hand. Do you reckon they’ll give you the option to swap?
Tri-Forced - 09.14.06 4:53 pm
God, I wish Mario was launch. Even just in photos it looks FUN.
Tony - 09.14.06 4:53 pm
And yeah, Link seems to be right handed now. IGN made note of it earlier.
I’m wondering if the game lets you choose which hand you are and changes him accordingly. I have to imagine that now that people have to physically swing the hand might make a difference.
Tony - 09.14.06 4:54 pm
AM I MISSING SOMETHING? Or has the coolest launch title ever dissapeared of the face of the earth? WHERE IS SUPER SMASH BROS BRAWL!!!!!!!!?????????? We were promised it would be availale as a bundle on launch. but i hav’nt heard about it since the teaser video was released. I want some answers!!!! lol. Any Ideas?
Todd - 09.14.06 8:06 pm
Todd, Nintendo originally said that SSBB was going to be a launch title, but they amended that statement quite a while ago. It’ll come out later in the system’s life, when it’s good and ready.
Pikachelsea - 09.14.06 8:20 pm
Yeah, Nintendo isn’t even implementing online for games until a little while after launch, so you better be glad SSBB isn’t a launch title.
Grant - 09.14.06 9:22 pm
Thanks for clearing that up. but i cant wait. ssb rules.
Todd - 09.14.06 9:23 pm
Ugh, is every trailer going to have as much cheesy “player” footage as the Red Steel one? I get it, you pull the trigger to shoot the gun. And if you hide behind your chair, your character will take cover. Wait, that’s not true? Then stop showing it.
Schtum - 09.14.06 10:34 pm
Wait your NOT going to dive for cover and shoot dodge when playing Wii FPS. That needs to be a requirement!
Anyway..Bleuh they didn’t change the controls for Red Steel the way they did for MP:H. Meh. I think that brings it down from a 9 to possibly a 7-8. I’m still getting it because it looks fun (and I’m a japanophile) .
Shinn - 09.15.06 12:11 am
IGN has a video of the entire spaceship portion of the demo. It looks really great. The textures look way better than in MP2, and the lighting looks better too. It really does look next-gen, if you ask me. I think the Wii will be a great value with these kinds of graphics.
Grant - 09.15.06 2:48 am
Am I the only one avoiding all footage, screens etc? Kind of spoils the magic.
Lizard - 09.15.06 9:52 am
