Chris Kohler - the guy who gets my vote for ‘Lester Bangs of the Gaming Industry’ - has updated his blog at Wired.com with pictures from a recent visit to the offices of Skip in Japan. As you’re probably aware, Skip is the creator of such off-beat classics as Giftpia and Chibi-Robo for Gamecube, and they’re currently hard at work on Chibi’s upcoming DS trip to the park. While there, Kohler discovered the above drawing by none other than Miyamoto himself. I gotta say, one look at it made my day.

Hell yeah, Miyamoto has an awesome art style. A coffee table book of his art would kick all kinds of ass.

Awesome. I just fainted. And then was revived by the power of Miyamoto’s awesome cartooning!

I get a real kick out of seeing Miyamoto’s sketches. Sometimes I forget, what with all his game design endeavours, that he’s such a talented artist as well. Nice post guys.
