Do you want this game to make it to America? Nintendo wants to know. They’ve included a feature article on the upcoming Tinglicious title in the latest issue of Nintendo Power and hosted an online survey here. If you want to see Tingle’s Rose Colored Rupee Land localized for the North American market, go fill out that survey! You’ll need a Nintendo.com account, but signing up is free.

BEST GAME EVER. Rally the troops, internet!
Jonathan - 08.02.06 1:45 pm
^ I’d rather not.
Marc - 08.02.06 1:47 pm
GO TINGLE!!!
Vony - 08.02.06 1:57 pm
I voted YES on Proposition Tingle 13-E7!
Donato - 08.02.06 1:57 pm
This is too lame to be part of the Zelda game series. I hope it stays in japan. And if they do release it in the US, I hope its not consdered as one of the cannon zelda titles.
mike matei - 08.02.06 2:00 pm
I have a bad feeling that there’s going to be a lot of people saying no to this game.
Belmoon - 08.02.06 2:07 pm
^ That’s good news in my opinion.
Marc - 08.02.06 2:09 pm
I don’t even know why, but I really want to play this game. I hope it gets localized because it looks like it’d be a pain to play the import.
peshue - 08.02.06 2:20 pm
I just took the survey with every negative responce I could, and wrote a brief summary why. I really dislike Tingle, and think hes one of the most annoying things to ever happen to the Zelda franchise. One thing that got me scared, though, was that they asked for a responce you would have if Tingle was in Twilight Princess. I certainly hope he doesn’t make an appearance in that game.
Zork - 08.02.06 2:42 pm
Guys, guys, it’s post modernism! Just like MGS2!
Goooo Raiden!
theotherpedro - 08.02.06 3:00 pm
People should remember that they’re probably not just saying ‘no’ to tingle, but quirky japanese games in general. We need to encourage NOA to take some risks with releasing localizations of weird games - remember, you don’t have to buy the game, but what if saying no means that Nintendo won’t even consider releasing other titles you might like?
kevin - 08.02.06 3:01 pm
Oh God… my eyes….
I can’t… I can’t look away…
space_bean - 08.02.06 3:18 pm
kevin,
If you want a quirky “game”, I suggest the Touch Generations line. If you want this game to come to the U.S. then they better release EVERY quirky Japanese title over here. Especially that cooking “game” that’s doing good in Japan.
The cooking game kind of thing is actually helpful in the U.S. Whereas Tingle is just blatantly annoying.
Marc - 08.02.06 3:32 pm
I definitely agree with Kevin. Do you think it’s beneficial to vote no? What are Nintendo fans saying to Nintendo about quirky games if they vote no?
I voted yes, partly because I want to play a localized version of this game, and partly because I want -other- games like it to arrive on the DS (and eventually Wii) in the US. The DS is doing so well specifically BECAUSE of games like Tingle. Would we rather have them adopt a more PSP-ish game library for the Western markets?
noizbot - 08.02.06 3:48 pm
Amen Noizbot and kevin. Vote Yes to Tingle!
Capp'n - 08.02.06 3:54 pm
Tingle is unhetero.
notme - 08.02.06 4:12 pm
Nay. Tingle cheapens the Zelda Universe. He really doesn’t fit with the franchise and shouldn’t have his own game. Zelda or Ganon are far more deserving of a spinoff game based on their character.
Enigma7 - 08.02.06 4:16 pm
It’s O.K. to vote (hell)no for Tingle. Nintendo can still bring quirky titles over here. But they have to know which quirky titles appeal to the American mass market.
Nintendogs, and Brain Age did amazing in Japan and Nintendo knew it would do the same here.
Why?
Because (lets face it) Nintendo knows Americans loves puppies and being smarter than anyone else.
Tingle (if it is released here) will not do as good as those.
Why?
Because most Americans won’t exactly be excited about playing with a gross middle-aged man in tights.
Besides, can ANYONE SAY TO ME that Tingle has, in any way, shape, or form, played a pivital role in ANY Zelda game? Like ENIGMA7 said, “Zelda or Ganon are far more deserving of a spinoff game based on their character.”
Can anyone tell me what is deserving of Tingle’s character that should cause him to get his own game?
Marc - 08.02.06 4:42 pm
“What are Nintendo fans saying to Nintendo about quirky games if they vote no?”
We would be saying that we love Nintendo’s quirky games (sales prove that), but we would rather not have this one, thank you.
Marc - 08.02.06 4:44 pm
I say vote yes because the game is already made and localization is the only thing left to do. I vote no for a new game for the US that takes up our precious zelda coding time from programers, but I don’t see this as being a huge task on the Localization team since they don’t have a different zelda game to work on.
joey - 08.02.06 5:13 pm
hey, can i ask you all, where would we be today, if tingle wasn’t here.
A, we be lost in MM, if it not for his maps
B, we still be stuck, with out a raft, in Oracle of Ages
C, we couldn’t have found the pieces of the tri-force, THUS Zelda would have forever perished at the hands of Ganon!
I rest my case
Lil_fighter - 08.02.06 5:32 pm
^ Nintendo can easily switched him with any random generic shop keeper. Besides, haven’t you heard of cheat codes?
Therefore, Tingle is irrelevent to the gaming world (for me at least).
Marc - 08.02.06 5:56 pm
Some would argue that Tingle is a metaphor for the modern gamer. A man who has not grown up, who believes in fantasies, and who simply won’t let go of his dreams.
Some would argue that these people are idiots.
Benny - 08.02.06 6:09 pm
Dude, did you guys read the preview for the game in Nintendo Power? It’s really got me hooked, and I’ve loved Tingle dearly and close to my body since he was spawned. I pray that this game is released in America. Contact and Tingle RPG–the only two RPG’s I’ll ever need.
Butt Buttston - 08.02.06 6:13 pm
Tingle is the root of all kinds of evil.
Dark Mithan - 08.02.06 7:21 pm
Just to set the record straight, har har, I am un-hetero and thankfully own no tights.
Tingle, on the other hand, is the 40-Year-Old Virgin.
raindog - 08.02.06 9:03 pm
this tingle game is probably a decent game. I’m sure its kind of fun to play, but the fact that is associated with zelda is just wrong. Tingle is a very minor character in just a few zelda games and doesn’t warrent his own title nearly as much as characters like Zelda or Ganon. They made Super Princess Peach and I could live with a game all about Princess Zelda but this Tingle crap has just got to disappear. Its a disgrace to the zelda franchise. I welcome new characters, but not Tingle.
mike - 08.03.06 12:45 am
Tingle’s a grownup who thinks he’s a kid
Link is a kid who grew up too fast (dang time travel)
taa daa
Tingle GET!
Harukio - 08.03.06 12:45 am
I love Tingle. He’s just so…bizarre.
How can you not appreciate his desire to become a Kokiri? Haven’t *you* ever strived for anything?
And judging from Nintendo Power you gain friends by paying them off. That’s a great way to introduce kids to the manner in which America’s political system works!
Plus his voice is funny. I like how he floats in on a balloon in 4 Swords!
baiken - 08.03.06 7:24 am
“and I’ve loved Tingle dearly and close to my body since he was spawned.”
Um…eww.
Marc - 08.03.06 7:43 am
Tingle Tingle
Kooloo Limpah!
Catchy jingle
Rock your grampa!
narF - 08.03.06 1:49 pm
oh and Tingle is not gay! He’s just freaky and creepy. But certainly not gay.
This game is far more gay :: http://www.encyclopedia-obscura.com/gamescho.html
and see? No Tingle in there!
narF - 08.04.06 12:06 am
Hmm… I could care less about this game coming to “America” (I’ll assume North America) until I see Mother 3 in english.
Joey - 08.04.06 1:08 am
On that note, I emplore all readers to voice your concern on a Mother 3 localization in the “other notes” field while filling out the survey. I’m sure many of us would much rather see this masterpiece on shelves in North America than the Tingle game.
Joey - 08.04.06 1:15 am
It’s amusing that Marc is arguing so fervently against the Tingle game. Dude, don’t get so caught up — he’s only a video game character.
euth - 08.04.06 2:15 am
^ I know, but I hate when a good franchise is ruinied by a stupid character.
And Narf, no one said he was gay…
Marc - 08.04.06 11:08 am
Tingle is the greatest thing to ever happen to video games, and I would gladly have his babies, given the chance.
theoneguy - 08.05.06 9:03 pm

Actually I did the same. I am only slightly more interested in seeing Mother 3 than I am Tingle RPG.
