My feelings about Contact, Atlus’ unconventional DS RPG, aren’t a secret. You won’t hear people cautiously speculating on my opinion of the game. No, my adoration for this title couldn’t be declared any louder if you wrapped it in <strong> tags.
The story of my romance with Contact is a timeless one — we could be Jack and Rose Dawson, doomed lovers on the Titanic’s maidenhead voyage. Our affair would mirror the film’s flirtations, even up to the scene where I’d paint Contact’s nude figure.
Still unsure about what to expect from this bizzare game? Have a look at the blurb from the back of Contact’s box:
Things you WON’T find in Contact:
A dull moment. Normalcy. A guy with spikey hair and/or amnesia. Dramatic monologues. The same battles you’ve been fighting since the 16-bit era.Things you WILL find in Contact:
Monkeys. Cosmic terrorists. Powerful attack stickers. Fishing. Cooking. Humor. Fun with Nintendo WiFi. Deeper Meaning in life.* Costumes that increase your power and make you more fun to be around.*Results may vary.
Atlus has sent out a wealth of Contact media for us to devour, and several previews for the game have already surfaced. We can expect to hear much more about this wondeful title as its September 19th release date nears.

ok you got my attention.
So what is this game all about? Isn’t it like Earthbound/Mother?
I wish theres a RPG game that uses realtime clock like animal crossing - it will be cool to meet certain characters at a certain time. Yes, it will disrupt your life, but I will be glad to set my alarm clock to wake up in the night for some fun.

The WiFi thing has me excited. Apparently, when you connect with a friend through WiFi, the game takes thei data and makes an NPC out of it. The NPC’s live on a special little island and you can have up to 8 NPCs.
They also help you get special stuff and etc.

Chris: It’s really not much like Earthbound/Mother at all. I feel like that was exaggerated big time ever since people realized that Doctor kind of looked like Andonuts. Beyond that and a good sense of humor it seems like the similarities pretty much end there. Not many places have bothered to differentiate them yet, but then again not many places have played it yet.

Looks great, but based on the artwork doesn’t the protagonist have spikey hair? Doesn’t the protagonist of EVERY Japanese game have spikey hair? I thought it was a contractual obligation.

I’d say his hair is more disheveled than spikey. It doesn’t compare to, say, Cloud.
