As we discussed earlier, Nintendo is riding a wave of hype with the Wii… and it seems like the hype is finally working.

First we’ve got the world’s largest publisher “ramping up” Wii and DS game production based on the 6-hour long excitement that the Wii created at E3. Specifically, EA says they’ll have 2 launch titles (Need For Speed and Madden) and 5 more Wii titles by March of 2007.

Then we’ve got Ubisoft’s North American head honco Laurent Detoc (Edgar, you’re going to have to teach me how to pronounce that) announcing at the Ziff Davis Electronic Games Summit that his company has 7 titles coming to the Wii (including Rayman and Red Steel).

Midway President David Zucker also stated that Midway is going to show the Wii some love with 6 titles in development.

By my count, that’s 20 titles in the pipeline from 3 fairly large publishers. Granted, these publishers have historically supported Nintendo in its GCN endeavors, but it’s good news nonetheless. Hopefully some of the stingier publishers that avoided the GCN like the plague will hop on board the Wii train (which, I think, would be the bestest train the the entire WORLD.).
