Having recently miniaturized just about every aspect of their console business… Nintendo has decided that they support the downsizing of other things as well. Nintendo has commited to showing up to e3 2007. I mean, it makes sense. The small, sleek, Wii and sleek(er), small(er), DS lite will be shown at the sleeker, smaller e3 2007.
So simmer down, as around this time next year we’ll all be talking about how Nintendo won e3 again.
Now if only we could get a damn Nintendo press contact and get into this smaller, sleeker event next year… we’ll be good.

I still can’t belive they shrunk it down…

Yay, I guess? But I think we all know Nintendo will always be there.

E3 was like a star.
It starts out small, and as it ages it gets bigger and more powerful, until…
It gets too big and explodes, and trandsorms into a little white cutie.

Wait, what? What’s the deal with that sign?
nintendoFREAK411 - 08.02.06 3:00 am
Yea! The apostrophe shouldn’t be in there at all.
Hoob - 08.02.06 4:14 am
That sign was at the exit of e3 this year… odd ain’t it? Considering it isn’t 2007 yet…
Benny - 08.02.06 4:49 am
nice photoshop job on the sign, you matched the font and color really well, but the “7″ is to big, it visably hangs bellow the rest of the #.
Mallin - 08.02.06 5:19 am
That`s not a photoshop job, that was a sign that was actually at the exit of E3 this year. We found it odd and took a pic.

The apostrophe is correct. “It’s” with an apostrophe is used for ownership as in “the dog likes it’s bone”. But when ownership is applied to more than one thing, the apostrophe goes AFTER the “s”. So “the schools’ students” and “its’ members” since “students” and “members” are plural.
dsgamer13 - 08.02.06 7:43 am
No, “it’s” is a contraction for “it is” or “it has”.
“Its” is a possessive pronoun.
There is no such word as “its’”

>“It’s” with an apostrophe is used for ownership as in “the dog likes it’s bone”
Incorrect. “It’s” is in this case an abbreviation of “It is”. The possessive form of “it” never has an apostrophe, and “it’s” can only ever be a contraction of “it is” or “it has”.
>But when ownership is applied to more than one thing, the apostrophe goes AFTER the “s”. So “the schools’ students” and “its’ members” since “students” and “members” are plural.
Incorrect again. If “schools” was plural (ie “the schools’ student’s work”), then the apostrophe would be correct, otherwise since school is singular it would be “the school’s students”.
Consider the four possibilities
the school’s student’s (singular, singular)
the school’s students’ (singular, plural)
the schools’ student’s (plural, singular)
the schools’ students’ (plural, plural)
Each of these has a different meaning and would be used in different situations.
Thus concludes today’s seminar on the apostrophe and its uses. On-topic again, I have no idea why they decided to put an apostrophe after “its”. It shouldn’t be necessary unless it’s a part of some acronym rules I’m not aware of.

In short, possessive pronouns never have apostrophes. Still, Lizard wins!

It’s STILL called E3?
I thought they’re gonna call it min-E3 (get it?).
Marc - 08.02.06 10:04 am
Much ado about nothing.
I can understand software companies pulling out, but a hardware company pulling out would be a mistake.
amanaplan - 08.02.06 11:15 am
Hah, Min-E3! Give the man a prize.
The use of apostrophe’s’ in the US is becoming seriously confused. I blame E3-bonics.
Mars - 08.02.06 11:31 am
Darn, it would appear my grammar has gone to crap over the summer. I’m stupid. Still, while “it’s chair” is wrong, how would you do plural possessive of “its”? Is it still “its”? Bah, I am too dumb
dsgamer13 - 08.02.06 12:06 pm
“It’s still called E3?”
Sort of. They’ve renamed the smaller convention, and they’re calling it “E3Expo”. This is also a grammatical atrocity, as the convention’s full name should now read “Electronic Entertainment Expo Expo”.
Sounds like the ESA should go back to school

Do I smell a English-teaching Generation title coming for the DS?! lol jk

Oldskool - I believe there already is one in Japan, but I think teaching English to English-speaking kids would probably be a good idea.

I’ll back up your credibility, 4CR!!!
Hurricane Mario - 08.02.06 6:02 pm
Actually, it’s not referred to as “E3expo” at all. It will be called the “E3 Media Festival.” Just so you know.

What a bunch of grammar slobs…the plural of “its” is “their”.
