Chris Hoffman, a Nintendo Power contributor, recently let an interesting comment slip regarding the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

“If you want to talk about something big, how about the news Hideo Kojima, Snake’s creator, is designing Snake’s level in Brawl? Snake’s inclusion means we’re not only getting one of the best characters in gaming, but one of the best developers as well.”

Naturally, we can’t wait to see what Kojima will bring to the Smash Bros. formula. However, this raises an even more interesting possibility. Sakurai has strongly hinted that we’d see several noteworthy 3rd Party characters in the upcoming Brawl. What if their developers also contributed their talent for a particular level? We could see Yuji Naka developing a Sonic level. We could roll up trophies in a Takahashi-designed Katamari level. Hironobu Sakaguchi could treat us to an epic Final Fantasy stage.

Although nothing has been confirmed yet, we salivate at the possibility of a Smash Bros. that isn’t just a dream team of characters, but a dream team of developers. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is set to be released in 2007 for the Wii. Stay tuned for updates as they make their way out of HAL HQ.
