Sorry, Nick wouldn’t let me show you the rest of the pic
Well, we can now officially put camera-in-front-flap rumors to rest. To tell you the honest truth, while a cam would have been really cool (and I’m still not completely counting out some kind of a Wii camera function), I’m not at all surprised. That faked image that popped up recently wasn’t exactly convincing.
Turns out the front flap houses nothing but the SD card ports, which, according to Reggie, will be only one of the memory mediums. This all but confirms what was stated by Iwata some time back, that Nintendo would give us the freedom to use any kind of USB device as a storage medium. Sounds like good news to me.

so if its a usb port for a storage device…….technically one could hook up an ipod (I know I use mine for storage more then music) to save stuff onto?
OR AM I WRONG WOT WOT WOT!!!!! O,O

I didnt really think there would be a camera under the flap. The SD card reader makes perfect sense. I do still think there is something we don’t know. Not necessarily about the hardware but something about how it will be used or some new feature that will enhance gameplay or the user experience. Like connect24 or some element of connect24.

this could be so cool. Hopefully it can use a USB hard drive, those are so cheap now.

I so can’t wait~
hopefully they don’t pull an MS and become brand selective on hardware that will work with it though.

Yeah, I’m totally hoping for all-out USB storage freedom. That would be so unlike the old Nintendo, and so cool

Does that mean I can use a PSP as a USB storage device for the Wii?

I would bet that when the Wii finally shows up at retail, that little black area under the flap includes slots for other memory card formats as well, depending on whom they make deals with…. maybe CompactFlash and MiniSD, but probably not Memory Stick, thank you
Also, Reggie is WATCHING YOU POOP.
