Being the traffic generators that they are, Gabe and Tycho from Penny-Arcade are sent all the cool stuff from big gaming companies who hope that they’ll mention it on the site. However, Nintendo likes to go the extra mile and, you know, make people say “wow”. That’s why when they sent PA a brand new DS Lite they included a little surpise in the packaging.
Read on to see what I mean.

You can head on over to the Penny-Arcade website to see what they had to say about this.
So Nintendo, 4cr generates some good traffic. When can we expect ours to come in the mail?
Can we at least have that box?

Yes! one of these days I’ll be that famous!
Myles - 06.07.06 8:48 pm
That rocks! Leave it to Nintendo to do something that thoughtful.
Phylly - 06.07.06 8:58 pm
Forgive me, but what exactly is packaged in with the DS Lite?
videogamer3586 - 06.07.06 9:07 pm
^Turn on your sound.

:Dtrust nintendo to do something as awesomely cool and imaginative as that. that’s what should happen whenever you open a box containing any nintendo product
nerd_jacob - 06.07.06 9:18 pm
Did anyone else notice the lights in the corners (They go off when the music ends)
Ergo - 06.07.06 9:49 pm

I’m sad. I sent in this entry awhile ago; but never got a mention.
Oh well; I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these white beauties.
Sinnen - 06.07.06 10:08 pm
Thats pretty cool but it should have gone :ZELDA: DU Du Du DERRRRR
David James - 06.07.06 10:10 pm
I’d probably poop myself if my DS lite box did that.
HI - 06.07.06 10:21 pm
That’s pretty slick.
SavageS - 06.07.06 10:42 pm
sinnen: I actually found this before you sent it to me.
But either way, I did credit you as the submitter so I don’t get what the commotion’s about.
Michael Tucker - 06.07.06 10:44 pm
Awesome, I love it. My turn nintendo

“Thats pretty cool but it should have gone :ZELDA: DU Du Du DERRRRR”
yeah, as funny as this is, I wish it would’ve been the zelda “secret” sound.
monkeypox - 06.07.06 10:45 pm
Nintendo has lost all their marbles now
Although, I wouldn’t have been unhappy to encounter that
NekoTsukimi - 06.07.06 11:28 pm
Ergo, I noticed the lights in the corners too. How fitting.
animagnum - 06.07.06 11:48 pm
What in the world?
Nintendo has turned into the generous but bizarre uncle…
Freako Suave - 06.08.06 12:47 am
Nah, Nintendo is more like that girlfriend that loves you so much she even makes crafts for you every time you last another month together. Believeeee meeee…
I wonder what Sony would send? probably the bird FLU!!!
vakerorokero - 06.08.06 3:00 am
Ooh, lovely. That’s rather nice of Nintendo
Krono6 - 06.08.06 3:44 am
Every god damn Nintendo product should do that when you open the box, it would be the coolest thing ever. Also mix it up. Whenever you open a Zelda box the “puzzle solved” sound plays. A Mario game “Yaaa-Hooo” and so on. It would be priceless I tell you, priceless.
flamecondor - 06.08.06 4:31 am
I second that, Flamecondor. It could even stop me from “running homebrew games”. Just for Nintendo titles, tho.
Mat - 06.08.06 4:47 am
Blah, YouTube doesn’t work with my firewall. Based on the comments I assume it plays music of some sort, and has flashing lights?
handofg0d - 06.08.06 7:17 am
I’d probably poop myself if my DS lite box did that.
HI
I wonder what Sony would send? probably the bird FLU!!!
vakerorokero
LOL! Nah, man. Sony would send a PSP with a FREE! sticker and a bill.
??? - 06.08.06 3:09 pm
That is cool, however this means that Nintendo has A LOT of time on their hands……which probably means they could have launched the Wii months ago!
Marc - 06.08.06 5:10 pm
what did it do? no one has said what it has actually done!!!
Daniel Cetina - 06.08.06 7:13 pm
reason #4,578 why Nintendo rocks so much.
heavyness - 06.09.06 12:17 am
I was puzzled at first, then I realised that the music came from the box! Nintendo even put lights in the box! I bet someone is going to steal this idea and make a packaging business out of it.
Yeah I agree, Nintendo has too much time on their hands. Wii was built months ago unlike PS3, they could have sold it by now, but they know its better to wait till the holiday season to launch it.
Chris - 06.09.06 4:55 am
^Good point
However, i’m still pissed they didn’t let ME have a DS lite even tho I can’t give them anymore publicity that that homeless guy down the block
Marc - 06.09.06 4:46 pm
I bet the Wii boxes they send to the press will launch confetti.
