I thought Common Sense Training was just a joke? Wow if it’s actually a game.

Yes, Common Sense Training is real. It’s already out in Japan. We get a lot of direct imports here in Taiwan (because Nintendo’s reps in Taiwan are the second worst I have ever seen) and I saw it sitting on the shelf of one of my local circuit of gaming stores. I’d buy a copy, if my Japanese hadn’t gone to shit and if I could be bothered fighting through it.

How is it possible that Children of Mana takes this long to translate??? I mean Oblivion came out the same day in US and Europe, and I’m sure that game has a lot more text than Children of Mana.

Japanese publishers suck.

Well, as a professional translator I can tell you that Asian languages take longer to translate into European languages, because there is no linguistic connection between the two. From one European language to another is relatively quicker, especially if you’re going between English and a Germanic or Romance language. That said, that game is taking a long-ass time, even taking that into account.

I kinda don’t like the fact that they’re selling Lites before the supposed release date without telling anyone.. It’s just bad news for the people who don’t enter society as the sunlight will surely melt them

I picked one up this morning (8:30am) at the Target in North Wales, PA after reading this post. I got the last one on the shelf. The guy at the desk didn’t even know they had them, so if you call your Target and they say ‘no’, you might want to ask if they could check the shelf.

I picked up one at Walmart this morning. They had loads in the display case.

I was surprised to walk into my local walmart today, only to spot several DS lites on sale as well. It was earlier in the morning, too. Of course, we picked one up. Very cool.

I’m still waiting for a non-white DS lite. (But knowing Nintendo, we won’t see another colour here for months, otherwise the fanboys will rage and shout “WTF?! I JUST BOUGHT ONE!”)

Well, that, and I have no money. (Looking for new job.)

The only reason the translation is taking so long for Children of Mana is because they want to make a good one. Oblivion may have been released the sameday in the U.S. and Europe but supposedly the translation sucked.

Can anyone confirm if any Canadian locations are breaking the street date? I’d love to pick one up tonight, even if it ends up being a white one :\

For the record, I saw Big Brain Academy for sale at an EB Games two days ago.

At the same store, I also saw that Polarium still costs more than both Big Brain and Brain Training.

btw, not to be the proverbial grammar jerk, but the possessive “its” (as in, “Nintendo released its schedule today”) doesn’t have an apostrophe. “It’s” with an apostrophe means “it is”.

uhg. no luck yet. the only target near me (north haven, ct) didn’t have em. they didn’t even have the standard DS, said they weren’t carring them. now on to a 3 walmart circuit…

well, i just trekked across a few walmarts (in CT) and only one had them. sadly, they had already sold a bunch and someone got in big trouble so they had to stop. no amount of begging would satisfy them and after a good 15 second blank stare i left with a 1/4 tank less of gas and no DS. time to go stare at my games i can’t play for 11 more days…

that happend to me too at wallmart! Then i found one at Target and called in sick, ive spent the past 5 hours playing NSMB on my Lite(AWSOME!!) They also have them at K-mart!

Wow. I’m glad I don’t have to deal with this confusion. I’m waiting for the holidays when Red *crosses fingers* will be available (and I’ll have more money then too )

Speaking of release dates, why has the story about the November 6th Wii date been deleted?
