And now, for the final bit of 4cr E3 coverage; Wii video’s galore! We had a fantastic time at E3 and it was great to be able to capture that on film. For me, seeing the 4cr staff playing the Wii games and hearing all the background noise really adds to the experience and puts me right back on the show floor.
A huge thanks to all of the staff who made E3 so much fun. Also, we all owe a big thanks to Boon and Edgar for getting most of this video. Finally, thanks to every 4cr reader who gave us a reason to record all of this and made us eager to share. We have some of the best readers (and listeners) on the net and it makes it all worth it. I wish I could have brought you all to E3, but maybe with the help of these videos we can bring a little bit of E3 to you.

QUESTION:: So was the controller as laggy as it looks in the Baseball demo? It seems to move a fraction behind the wiimote from the video??

The viddys look great, which ones are gonna be release titles?
And also, wow, this is the first time I’ve seen someone like “Sony Guy” on 4cr. Does anyone else think it’s some kind of joke? Because he can’t be serious..
Mannie - 05.30.06 8:33 pm
Great job for getting some of the games being overlooked by the bigger sites. Go 4cr!

That’s the Gundam game that’s suppose to be for the Wii? Looks adorably fun. However, I just gotta ask, why is it the PS3 gets the realistic looking Gundam game and, again, Nintendo gets a chibi, cartoony, “kiddy” looking Gundam game? What the heck is going on with third-party developers. Sega gives us Sonic and Monkey Ball, but gives the other systems games like Condemned and Chrome Hounds. Konami gives us Elebits but gives the PS3 Metal Gear Solid 4 (with even a slight mention of 360 supposedly being able to run it). Capcom has yet to mention anything but Resident Evil for Wii and it isn’t even likely going to be RE5. I’m seeing another “Nintendo=kiddy system and must only get kiddy looking if not weakly designed games like Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles instead of, oh I don’t know, Kingdom Hearts.”
questworld - 05.30.06 10:36 pm
Even the 360 is getting a “mature” looking Bomberman. If it isn’t for the fact that Bomberman actually looks like it does on the Wii, I’d include it on the roster of third-party games insisting on a bias of putting “kiddy” games for Nintendo’s systems and “mature” games for the other two. Ah, I’ll add it anyway because it’s so obvious. That all said, it’ll still depend if the games, mature or kiddy looking, are any good at all. And to be honest, on the flip side, I wouldn’t want to be swamp with “mature” looking titles alone either. I’ve seen the the PS3 launch lineup and I gotta say seeing only such titles felt boring and generic. Where’re the “blue skies” as they say. Developers really should stop all this nonsense of coralling specific gamers into one console. Nintendo fans love RPGs too but they seem to have for the most part been put on the PS2. Now it seems most Japanese RPGs are for the Playstation only, Western PC-based RPGs are for the Xbox, and so on and so on. It feels like I’m being forced to buy multiple consoles just to get the variety I want.

It was nice meeting you all at E3 this year. Nintendo certainly had a great booth and the Wii was lots of fun. I wish you the best of everything!

I want to know how Banana Blitz controls. How do you hold the Wiimote? And how responsive is it?
perdevious - 05.31.06 1:20 pm
Banana Blitz controlled well, though a bit diffrent from normal.
You held the controller like a NES controller, and you tilted it to get the tilt you wanted in game.
A was to jump, as was a “jump” motion of the controller (you moved it up quickly).
It played well and I had fun with it.
It was diffrent and that took a while to get used to, but only because the last Monkey Ball game I played was the GBA version.
