This is kinda funny - I’ve been looking around for a place to import the “Joy Stick Heroes” these last few days - the only release of it on DVD (budget title in Germany). Guess I won’t have to be looking anymore =)

It’s like Rainman for kids!

Oh man… along with Monster Squad and Little Monsters, this is my favorite movie as a kid. I saw a bootleg copy on dvd at a con once, but passed on it, and regreted it ever since.

This just made my week!

I find it hard to believe that this ISN’T on DVD yet. I was actually just looking for this movie yesterday, to order via Blockbuster Online, but (obviously) it wasn’t there. This movie is probably good only for nostalgia, but it’s still The Wizard!

YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES!!! I was contemplating how I could possibly ever get my hands on this one- I was considering some day I was bored this summer to just Limewire it- a greuling one hour process, and I would never be able to play it at full quality on a TV.

But now I can just go to the store and get it- ON MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!?!?!!?!?!!!!!! (August 30th)

I’ve seen clips of it, and I’ve seen Nintendo’s 1989 ads. So to see those ads in movie form will be HILARIOUS to watch!

Oh, and there was a span of a year or so where I watched Wonder Years EVERY DAY. Sad, I know. Those were the dark ages of my life, lol. He was a good actor, and still is, I don’t care one anyone says.

I’m thinking most of us want it for the camp value, Mekman. I wouldn’t mind owning the CD-i Zelda games for the same reason.

I am very interesting in seeing this movie since it came out when I was 1.

As for this movie. I must have watched it a hundred times as a kid.

Phew. I’d only buy a CD-i if someone paid me. I would not even take it for free… it’s that bad. Those games do not look fun at all. Even if they are “Legendary”, remember that they approach Superman 64 in level of Suckiness. (I rented Superman once… the worst 3 minutes of my life. )

This movie was very entertaining from the clips I’ve watched. I’ll see the whole thing in early september. I’m inviting the whole floor to my dorm room! Seems like a good way to make friends in my first year of college, dont ya think?

a few years back i went nuts looking for the dvd - i couldn’t even find any imports at the time.
i got lucky and found the laserdisc at this video store in the middle of nowhere - i begged them to sell it to me.
can’t wait for august - gonna go home tonight and watch it again!

I got the Laserdisc a few years ago, too, because there was no other digital preservation of it. A DVD of the movie was released in Germany a few years back under the title “Joy Stick Heros,” but it had no English soundtrack, so I didn’t bother to get it. But now…

Heh. Laserdisks. Those are great!… if you like 20 inch disks with players slightly bigger than the Xbox.
