If you caught the wonderful Nintendo press conference you saw a lot of games. But believe it or not, there are a ton of games that weren’t even shown. Take for example the amazing looking Super Paper Mario GC, a platformer for the GameCube, set in the Paper Mario universe. And how about Donkey Kong Bongo Blast? It’s a racing game that uses the Bongos to control DK’s rocketpack.
The other two big GameCube titles are Baten Kaitos and, of course, the Zelda: Twilight Princess Cube version. Check out the image galleries and videos for the great looking Super Paper Mario GC and DK Bongo Blast.

Ok, forget Wii, forget my DS, forget my LIFE, Super Paper Mario looks like the best game I have ever seen, ever.

Awesome, but…
Where is the Gamecube Kirby?
4ndii - 05.09.06 4:31 pm
Seriously, did they cancel that game? It looked pretty cool.
Anyway, I’m glad I’ll ahve some more use for the bongos, and Super Paper Mario looks beyond awesome.
Far beyond. This single day is puping my veins with such fandom I can’t contain it.

Alex - 05.09.06 4:41 pm
Well all that seems like a pretty weak effort except for Super Mario RPG.
But at least they haven’t yet forgotten their Cube.

Nick
I just want to say great job on reporting these GC titles. I saw no mention of them and I am even more excited now.

Sorry for the double post , is there any release date for super paper mario ?
MaCraMaN - 05.09.06 4:59 pm
Super Paper Mario?
I think my brain just exploded.
duncan - 05.09.06 5:06 pm
It seems that Nintendo is helping the youth of the nation learn Calculus. Did you see that MATH in the SPM screens? Bloody HILLARIOUS!
Lollard - 05.09.06 5:11 pm
BONG BLAST? LOLOLOLOLOL
mreddy1 - 05.09.06 5:19 pm
I don’t think people realise how much I love Project Hammer.
Almost as much as I love the concept of DK Bong Blast.
duncan - 05.09.06 5:30 pm
Woot, i found a leaked new video of Twilight Princess. A lot of things, but i don’t feellike spoiling anything.
NEEKS - 05.09.06 5:57 pm
Flare-chan wants her Kirby too
Digital Flareon - 05.09.06 6:04 pm
Check out the level layout in the screen above, it’s level 1-1 from Super Mario Bros! It’s from a different angle, though.
animagnum - 05.09.06 6:07 pm
Awesome stuff… While I’m disappointed that there wasn’t “enough” information in Nintendo’s keynote, I hope (and assume) that it is their strategy to slowly release details throughout E3 and hopefully E3 visitors just start spreading the news and excitement through word of mouth. “Oh, you didn’t think they had much at the keynote? Check out what’s at their booths!”
DK Bong Blast (video link had a typo) is what you get when they feature Cyrpress Hill on Donkey Konga
Chanchai - 05.09.06 6:42 pm
It is said that this new Paper Mario title “defies all video game logic.”
Now, what I’m wondering is if THIS game is what the long awaited Mario 128 has finally surfaced as. I remember Shiggy not saying much about Mario 128 a couple years ago because they didn’t want companies stealing their idea.
Just a hunch is all.
Keeko_ca - 05.09.06 7:37 pm
Yay! I Could Use My Bongos Again!
Hmm, More Side-Scrolling Action! Nintendo Knows How To Please Their Fans!
Nymo - 05.09.06 8:12 pm
I’m pretty sure that Super Mario Galaxy = Mario 128.
Geoff - 05.09.06 8:40 pm
OMG! Ever since I first played paper mario I’ve been dreaming of a mario platformer in that universe. I loved all the mini games where you were able to take bowser through more classic SMB levels. Gameplay of classic SMB with crisp, cartoonlike but not 3D graphics would be AMAZING.This screenshot doesn’t look quite like what I imagined, but cool nonetheless.
see3pio - 05.09.06 8:54 pm
WOW! didn’t see that there were other Super Paper Mario Screenshots other than the one at the top of this post. And a video even. This is close enough to what I had imagined to make me giddy. Can’t wait.
see3pio - 05.09.06 8:57 pm
fact sheet on the nintendo press site I was able to get on from a username/password posted on digg says Super Paper Mario will be out Q4 2006. WOOT!
see3pio - 05.09.06 9:33 pm
Super Paper Mario is soooo pretty.
YAY for the influx of Mario Platformers:
Super Mario Galaxy
New Super Mario Bros.
Super Princess Peach
Super Paper Mario
Cheeseball701 - 05.09.06 10:32 pm

TakaM - 05.09.06 10:37 pm
The thumb above is quite possibly the coolest looking screenshot…EVER
It is so b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l!
GoBigelow - 05.09.06 11:11 pm
…wow. Super Paper Mario is the game I thought I was buying when I mail ordered Paper Mario 2. I can’t wait.
raindog - 05.10.06 12:59 am
What do you suppose the sprite following the characters around all the time is? Is it something from the previous Paper Mario games? (I’ve not played them.)
Grant - 05.10.06 1:16 am
I want the Kirby Adventure game too
sdsichero - 05.10.06 1:23 am
Anyone else think that Super Paper Mario will be Wii-compatible? I think those markers/pointers next to the characters looks a bit shady
Protagonst - 05.10.06 8:31 am
I just can’t believe how amazing the Super Paper Mario screens are.
Could this…be the best E3 ever?
