Nintendo recently hosted a private pre-E3 event to show off upcoming software for the Nintendo DS. We almost snuck our way into the function actually, before a security guard halted us and pointed our eyes to a nearby sign that read “Media Professionals Only”–the word “Professionals” underlined. The guard then slowly angled the aim of his finger towards the women’s underwear worn on our heads. I guess showing up like that wasn’t too professional of us.
Due to the non-disclosure agreements that often accompany these events, not much has been revealed about the games that were demonstrated. What we do know is that nothing Metroid (Dread) related was spotted and that whatever was shown was playable. 1UP’s Jeremy Parish could only hint at “some pretty cool surprises.”
Between rumors of Nintendo Power taping printer paper on their office windows to block prying eyes, speculation concerning Sega’s NiGHTS possibly seeing a sequel on the Revolution, and an impending investigation regarding several unidentified bodies found floating at the harbor, there’s been lots of talk about how Nintendo plans to “wow” us at E3. Against all reason, I’m hoping for a Zombies Ate My Neighbors DS remake.
