New Super Mario Bros. Delayed Again

Nintendo has launched a teaser site for the New Super Mario Bros., and with it, announced that the title’s release has been pushed back to May 21, 2006. No explanation has been posted for the stalled date, though it may relate to Nintendo of America building up a surplus of DS Lites for an accompanying launch.

Three colorful desktop wallpapers were made available for download at the site. They were most likely put up as a momentary distraction, allowing the bad-news-messenger an opportunity to slip away and escape the wrath of ill-tempered Mario fans. Rest assured dear reader, he will be found and brought to justice.
