A single memory from the last 20 years that Miyamoto’s world has provided me;

The Sage’s bridge has been built, Ganon has been defeated, and all the worlds I, Link, have visited flash before me… now at peace where there was once war and strife. My long journey has finally ended, and as the Sages look on, I shed some tears. Not of joy, or of sadness about the end of of it all, but of sheer wonder and awe at the conclusion of an experience.

Zelda’s value is that while it unashamedly speaks to the basic human story of good versus evil, it knows that lives are not lived in these broad strokes. In our quest to save the world from the ultimate evil… we have time to harass chickens, we help save ranches, we smash pots, we sail the seas, we find treasure, we talk to weird little green men, we fall in love, we drink grandma’s soups, and we grow. Zelda takes these moments, these small photographs of a life, and puts them in an album that forms a cohesive whole. For the past 20 years, we have been able to experience the life of a true hero, been able to partake in improbable adventures through vibrant worlds, and have ridded the world of evil… and for that privilege, I am thankful. Ku-Lim-Pah!
