What do you think of when you think of potatoes? Eyes, alarm clocks, guns? Certainly. But video games? Well, if you’ve been to this retro gaming Nirvana in Nihonbashi Japan, then you certainly would.

The place is actually pretty well know if all of the links below are any indication. I’m definitely going to have go to Japan soon, hit up the gaming stores and bother Vinnk. Anyway, a gamer by the name of Patater sent along his pictures from his recent trip to Japan for all to enjoy.

I spent a lovely evening in Nihonbashi with my girlfriend on the cool evening of December 9, 2005. It’s said that Nihonbashi is the Osaka equivalent of Akihabara (Electric Town in Tokyo). I found many interesting stores. From ones filled with capsule toys, to stores with huge masses of electronic motors, to used game shops. I found hot dogs wrapped in plastic sitting in room temperature shelves. I found a TV with a built in Famicom, beer vending machines, Famicom disk systems, and a ton more. All the while, my girlfriend probably felt like I do whenever she’s shopping for kitchenware or curtains for the apartment.

And is it just me, or does this pic remind anyone else of The Keymakers room in the Matrix?
