GamePro Magazine got some new information from Nintendo regarding Metroid Prime Hunters. It looks like Nintendo has big plans for the 6 new bounty hunters included in the game. The game will also have over 25 multiplayer maps to choose from. Let’s just hope they will all be available online. The single player should be decent enough. There will be five worlds and you will have to lead Samus on a chase for the Hunters, jumping from world to world.
* Nintendo hopes that the 6 bounty hunters will become so popular, they get their own spin-off games
* If a hunter acquires an artifact during gameplay, you have to track him down to take it (even if it means to go to another world)
* In multiplayer mode there will be over 25 maps to choose from
* In gameplay there will be at least 5 worlds to travel to
* Official game release: March 20th

AWESOME!

It looks beutiful
Nintendofreak - 01.08.06 7:24 pm
I just wanna be able to fly that sweet-ass ship of Samus’s. In almost every game, I’ve wanted to be able to just jump in that ship, but it’s always damaged or something.

It could be the extra-push that the DS needs in America and Europe to appeal to teenage gamers.
It looks good, but I’m praying for the textures to be higher quality than the demo version.

TAKAM - 01.08.06 8:04 pm
Does this mean the end for 2D metroids?
John - 01.08.06 8:24 pm
@John - I sure hope not
CoffeeMan - 01.08.06 8:55 pm
I’ve heard a lot of complaints about how un-conservative Hunters will be, about how it isn’t a true Metroid, etc. I’ve stopped caring and am looking forward to what will hopefully be a fun game.

Aww too cool. I had serious doubts about this game after playing the demo, but after finding out you can travel to different planets to confront bounty hunters I’m all over it!
Steven - 01.08.06 9:51 pm
This game is working me up. Can’t wait till March for it.

Hmm…this looks to be something great, I, for one, was actually obsessed with the demo and found i could pwn all of my friends, still play it from time to time.
-The other hunters taking artifacts, is it part of the storyline or is it random?
@JOHN
Definetly no! I’ve seen news about plans for new 2D Metroids, (one of which is of course, Metroit Dread) also, Nintendo says Prime 3 will be the last of the series-does that mean no more 3D ones? No, new 3D serieses can start but, I’m pretty sure they said that to indicate that there is a new series starting which can be 2D.
Wow, it felt like I was being guided when I wrote that…

Ya! i got a post
Anyway, i really hope the other hunters get spinoff games, there is so much potential.

“* Nintendo hopes that the 6 bounty hunters will become so popular, they get their own spin-off games”
What a ridiculous notion, I sure hope it never happens. What we need is that rumored Metroid Dread to surface already (just more false hopes, I guess).
Poo - 01.08.06 11:59 pm
Well, they may not use the name Metroid Prime because that branch of the storyline takes place between Metroid 1 and 2. A hell of a lot of stuff has already happened between those two already. Also, that’d imply that the Metroid Prime is involved, and it shouldn’t be involved in every 3d Metroid game from now on.

The spin-off thing is absolute crap. Nintendo needs to think original. How about reinventing Metroid again?
BreakfastPills - 01.09.06 3:20 am
Yeah the spin-offs sound very Hollywood, and those guys are just doing great these days.
I don’t think they could warrant a new metroid based on an individual character, it would be an epic proportion of work.. like Guns and Roses releasing 2 albums on the same day.

I’d like to see the other Bounty Hunters, i know that Nintendo Europe have posted “mini story” videos on their website in the VIP section about the other Hunters and i like what i see.
I hope they come back some how in the future, even at least as multiplayer characters in Metroid Prime 3.

looks awesome, and I’m still hoping for a new 2d metroid on the DS, it will be awesome in 2 screens .
MaCrAmaN - 01.09.06 12:07 pm
Everyione is worried about these potential spinoffs. I say why not? Anyone enjoy the Wario World games? Yoshi’s Island?
As long as their not Metroid games with a different playable character…I’m cool…and I doubt Nintendo is aiming to do just that. I imagine they’ll have thier own unique game..if spin-offs is the intent.
Keeko_ca - 01.09.06 3:11 pm
I don’t think I’d ever would have thought Metroid would “spin-off” other series. I’m not sure I’m too pumped about the possibility. And now that I think about it, Metroid Prime: Hunters is coming quite close to stepping on the toes of the true spirit of Metroid. You’re all alone. That was the whole point.
Ryan - 01.09.06 4:52 pm
Actually, I wouldn’t mind a spin-off either, although it is kind of annoying that Nintendo is practically forcing it to happen. In the long run it doesn’t really matter as long as the games are good and not a carbon copy of other Metroid games. I remember a lot of you (myself included) crying out in anguish when Metroid Prime Pinball was announced.
Thores - 01.09.06 5:01 pm
The only problem with spinoffs is when they get like Contract JACK (NOLF spinoff)/Shadow the Hedgehog/etc - the subtlety of the original game is destroyed in favour of a balls-out shooting centric experience. If they go the spinoff route, I would hope they resist the temptation to go “hey this guy is like Metroid, only no exploring, no platforming/environment puzzles and few upgrades, just loads and loads of shooting!”
SpiderMonkey - 01.09.06 6:32 pm
Man Metroid keeps getting better and better! This game will be awesome, like halo handheld but better! Graphics look superb and the demo was sweeeeet! Keep it up nintendo!
Kegan - 01.10.06 1:27 am
Wasn’t Metroid Dread cancelled a long time ago? I really hope there will be a 2D metroid for the DS. That would kikk serious ratz
gotham kid - 01.10.06 8:15 am
Man, a game for Spire would be awesome! Hopefully if there is one is will go into the orgins of the Diamont and maybe why (and possibly if) they are extinct
KingOfFrozenSouls - 01.10.06 5:29 pm
I would never have thought that one of my posts on the Nintendo forums would end up on another site. Interesting… Nevertheless, I think this is some cool info.
MetroidFan14 - 01.10.06 6:17 pm
This game looks asome.I can’t wait untill it comes out . Weavel looks cool. But the other bounty hunters look cool to . Mutiplayer looks action packed.
