Here is a pretty enlightening audio interview with a former Nintendo of America employee. He was with the company for over eleven years, from the tail end of the SNES days all the way up until a few months ago. It’s interesting stuff and gives a little bit of insight into the workings of the company and its relationship with Nintendo of Japan.

Well, what would you like be called then? Saying what you arent is fine, but if you tell me what you are, I can make the changes.
Nick - 12.13.05 2:26 am
The show is called Leet Speak or you can refer to us as n37radio.
Thanks.
Jonathan - 12.13.05 2:34 am
As if N37radio is not retarded. N thirty seven radio , jeez
Jacomar - 12.13.05 10:30 am
Yeah, I hate the word podcast, due to it’s unfair linking to itunes, but leet speak is the bottom of the barrel. I’ve only seen it used well, sacastically.
M i RITE 1!!!!?!!111one.

hate is far to strong a word. I dislike the term podcast.
Lave - 12.13.05 10:36 am
Changing the “hate” topic, the uhh… MP3 file is very interesting. :p
Fireblend - 12.13.05 10:41 am
HATE
Lord Kuragari - 12.13.05 11:50 am
Jacomar it’s N three seven not N thirty seven geez.
I also never made clam that our name wasn’t retarded.
Podcast is a play on the two words iPod and broadcast. Seeing how this “recording” was first played on an iRiver iHP340 and all members of n37radio would like to stay as far away from apple’s mediocre media player as possible. Calling us a podcast is hardly fitting.

I believe the term you’re looking for is “blogcast.” I don’t like podcast either, but Jesus H. Christ…”Leet Speak?” I refuse to listen to your “blogcast” just for that!

Not a particularly enlightening cast. It’s interesting because he describes his experiences, and you learn the basic inner workings, but you learn nothing useful.
Next.

I has beeing ironic. 50rry . i propose the term soundifile wich is free of patents , not like MP3 , and because you can use OGG to stay away from mediocre compresion.
