Jools, one of our Japanese correspondants, was able to attend Miyamoto’s conference today at the Digital Interactive Entertainment Conference in Kyoto and sent us some great news! Here goes, complete with 1337 cell phone text messaging style!
hi, mailing from cell phone!
mmoto revealed that there is an extra feature in the rev that is still secret.
also, valve r v excited about rev, and love nintendo
jools
Yup! You heard right. Filthy Nintendo and its secrecy department is at it again! Although being great news, this kinda debunks the rumor that Kojima (scheduled to speak at DIEC 2005 just before Miyamoto) was supposed to work on a Revolution project involving some old Nintendo franchise. Well, maybe not debunks, but certainly doesn’t further it.
Now, why can’t E3 come any faster?

Why does that email debubk the Kjima rumour?
Jacomar - 12.02.05 8:22 am
My guess is because we heard news from Valve, which also spoke a bit before Miyamoto, and nothing regarding Kojima.
Kreven - 12.02.05 8:28 am
Oh i see, i did not know that he spoke there too so i could not make the connection.
Jacomar - 12.02.05 8:33 am
why the secrets. they can trust us at 4cr, right? can they?
EOM - 12.02.05 8:54 am
After Nintendo revealed the controller anything else is going to be anticlimactic…unless it’s HUGE! It’s going to be virtual reality and you know it.
grembot... - 12.02.05 10:01 am
My bet is a visor that is used with a TV to fill your whole range of vision. That way you can play with or with out it.
Or maybe they will shock Sony and Ms and say rev will support HD. Hey, that will be a surprise…
Jacomar - 12.02.05 10:20 am
I doubt it bodes badly for Kojima’s involvement in a Rev game. He’s stated that he’s developing one before after all, hasn’t he?
Awesome news, though. Cool that Valve’s into it
Rumas - 12.02.05 10:27 am
Oh I would have given my right arm just to have been there. And please let there be a Valve game in the works. And what could that extra feature be. Oh and happy 1 year Anniversary 4color. I only just for this site 6 months ago; but youve been a favorite ever since.

I have a crazy theory about the revo, may be it’s a hybrid portable/home console, nintendo said that the final console will be even smaller than the proto shown at E3, why ? in my opinion to make it portable , may be, in all the official revo images, we can see only the right side of the machine, what if in the other side there’s a screen and controls !, I know it’s crazy, but image that, you can plugg your Revo to the TV and put on its nice craddle and play with the revo controller, or you can take it outside and play old school games , even GC games, this would explain why nintendo want to make te console tiny and quiet, and i think if thet come-up with something like that it will be a “revolution” in sales , evrybody will buy it for sure !!!! and one other thing if you check ou the Revo page in the Nintendo website, there is a light coming from the left side of the console !!!!!, well it’s crazy , but who knows !?
MaCrAmaN - 12.02.05 12:06 pm
here’s a picture of shiggy speaking at the DIEC 2005 , well now we know for sure that there’s more about the Revo , but when will we able to see/know it !??? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen ?

I think the new banner rocks. The old one was fine but it was getting old, I like to see those things change regularly to keep it fresh.

Hey guys, before things began, Miyamoto and Kojima were sat together looking all “pally”, but during the conference ending discussion there was a marked tension between them. Its highly unlikely that Kojima is doing anything with Nintendo right now.
As for the the revolution’s new secret, Miyamoto said that its something small, and down played it. However, the discussion’s host immediately replied with “thats what you said about the revolution controller to begin with!”, to which everyone had a good laugh.

hooray for valve
Syril Ram - 12.02.05 10:16 pm
Holy crap, I figured it out. They’re designing the Rev to be almost completely portable. It will run on a rechargeable battery, hence the “quiet, low power” design. You can likely use a DS or maybe the next Game Boy as a wireless portable screen, hence the “free from television” hinted at. You’d be able to go to any hotspot and play the Rev. It all fits. Well, maybe not ALL, but I think it’s good.
Poo_bob - 12.02.05 10:56 pm
As reply to Macraman : You’ve got a good point there, a little far-fetched, but hey, the controller was a big surprise too. But I think you missed something: as you say (correctly)there’s no official pic of the rev’s left side, there IS one where it’s placed horizontally, with the left side ON THE GROUND. I don’t think that would be much in favour of a fancy hidden screen underneath there. But as I said, didn’t the controller come as one heck of a surprise…?
Brizzle - 12.03.05 8:12 pm
this is the pic
Brizzle - 12.03.05 8:14 pm
Brizzle, yeah, it’s crazy theory, but it could be the real deal, the revo could be the first Portable/home console, portable for Nes/Snes/N64/GC , with no use of teh Disk drive , and this explain the internal 521 M memory, more than enough to load up to N64 games, for the GC may be you’de need an SD card or something, and at home the Revo is a home console with a revolutionnary controller ,this the only logical explanation to the Tiny size of the console, tiny means portable, all this is pure speculation , but soon we’ll hopefully know, it’s been more than a year now and really I’m starting to get tired of all the rumors and secrets, c’mon nintendo set’us free :’(
MAcRAmaN - 12.04.05 5:48 am
Think maybe you can download crappy games via Steam?
