[Now Watching| More Deadwood]
Given the history between Rare and Nintendo, it’s always interesting to hear what the two companies have to say about each other. Recently, one of the lead designers over at Rare commented on the Revolution controller. He definitely likes what has seen, but questions the effects of long term gaming with the controller.
The controller looks like it might lend itself towards a light gun style of shooting, which would be a fresh approach. Personally, I’d like to try using the controller for an hour or more, the length of play session I had when I played Wind Waker, for example… It doesn’t look that comfortable to me at first glance.
Also, Rare’s mailbag/pantsboard recently asked readers to send in suggestions of what Rare game(s) they would like to see on the Nintendo DS. In case you missed it, Rare has officially confirmed support for the DS, although no titles have been announced as of yet.

..so maybe we will have a DS title from RARE by 2010. If we’re lucky.

“Hot Chocolate without Marshamllows is like Nintendo without Rare”
I’m still torn up over Microsoft taking them over.
I hope there’s at least download support from rare on the Revolution.
Remeber they did make It’s Mr. Pants for GBA, I’ll give them 2009 until a DS game.

Without Martin Hollis Rare is just a regular developpement house that makes average games once in a decade, seriously since the guy left there’s nothing interresting , conker LR , kameo almost 10 years of developpement (since the N64 era!!) is coming for xbox and it’s nothing to get excited about it, I beleive that nintendo did a great deal by selling Rare to M$, as far as DS , if they just port the good old N64 games that would be awesome ( conker BFD, banjo 1&2, Perfect dark) , I really wanna know what ZOONAMI is up to in the next geberation, Martin hollis has tight relations with nintendo and if someone can pull a masterpiece it’s him.

They will never release any Revolution titles, so this isn’t worth commenting. He is right, we also want to test it out and see for ourselves if how it will be. Not as interesting as those comments form game developers that actually will develop games that use it and that comment on something that isn’t totally obvious for us gamers and that mention what they think of it as developers.

Lance McCloud , you’re right , Rare will never develop for Revo, …Unless the X 360 do really bad and M$ leave the hardware gaming business, wich is possible IMO, eveybody is talking about a Sony/M$ war, and they’re forgetting that the only TRUE videogame maker is preparing a Revolution with a new way of playing games, a free wifi network, best softwares ever “Nintendo’s” , I beleive that they can’t compete with that.

whatever. Isn’t he part of Microsoft now? sounds like kind of trying to discreetly put down the revolution. If you don’t workout you might have a bad time playing this console, but so will trying to eat anything to have to use silverware. The problem lies in most people can’t use their hands for other thing than typing. You can get sick if you don’t move, people. I’m happy Nintendo will make people move at least a little bit, like those dancing games. I don’t my little sister to get fat & lazy thanks to Tv, Pc & Video Games. My god, I heard some people getting tired of playing a DS because of the Stylus…

“I’m still torn up over Microsoft taking them over.”
I’m not. Oh dear, we missed out on Grabbed By The Ghoulies. Big loss…
I was worried at first, as I absolutely adored Rare when they were at the apex of their art. Then they jumped ship and started to suck, which is great because Microsoft paid a metric arseload of money for them and they got nothing in return. Also, hilariously enough, they are still making games for Nintendo handhelds, which is the biggest source of Nintendo’s income anyway. Funny how it all turns out.

I don’t want any ‘new’ Rare games, but Blast Corps & Goldeneye Online would be the BEST EVER!
