A recent scan from Weekly Jump magazine just appeared moments ago on the net, announcing that another title in the Seiken Densetsu series is comming for DS. Currently titled Seiken Densetsu DS: Children of Mana, this great title from SquareEnix is part of the recently announced and still mysterious World of Mana project to bring the series to multiple systems.
For more info on the Seiken Densetsu series, here’s a great wikipedia entry on the subject.

Looks like Sword of Mana on steroids, which is a good thing. As long as they avoid Seiken Densetsu III’s non-action combat and create a Secret of Mana that isn’t buggy, this could be one sweet DS action/RPG.
It’s also nice to see that they’re finally making a 3D Seiken Densetsu. Hope it doesn’t suffer from the same flaws as Kingdom Hearts, though.
There’s only one loose end here: wasn’t Legend of Mana Seiken Densetsu 4? Or is Brownie Brown trying to distance themselves from that bomb?

From what I read, “World of Mana” isn’t a game, but a revival of the series.
…and is it just me, or are all the Seiken Densetsu games flawed in some way? The first two were probably the best of the series, but even they had their problems.

Is Game Designers Studio making Seiken Densetsu 4??? Compare the artwork between SD4 and FFCC and check out the similarities.

After all the bad stuff I’ve heard about Crystal Chronicles, I’m hoping they aren’t.

Crystal Chronicles has a better multiplayer mode than any of the secret of mana games in my opinion, it just lacked a compelling story/world and the single player mode was nearly impossible to play and wasn’t fun at all. The battle system is simplified and fun, and combined with 2-4 players, was quite blast to play. Game Designers Studio put a lot new ideas into FFCC and came out with mixed results.
If anything, I would hope Brownie Brown is staying away from Seiken Densetsu after the horrible Sword of Mana, which did nothing for the series. In defense of Legend of Mana, at least it tried to introduce some new ideas, even if almost everything in that game was poorly executed.

Noboddy likes Legend of Mana. ): It’s my favorite in the series.
I like all games in the series, to be honest. One of the biggest draws for me is the art style. Can’t wait for Children of Mana.
Also, which system is SD4 coming out for? Hope it’s GCN. (: Although, I have a PS2 as well, so…no biggie either way.

Fianally, i hope that they can at least match it up to the SNES one

Why do people always rag on Sword of Mana? I think it’s the best game in the series. It takes just about all the greatest elements from Final Fantasy Adventure, Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu III, and Legend of Mana and packages theme into a solid GBA cart.
