Game Boy SP Backlit?

Apparently, Nintendo has quietly rolled out a new version of the Game Boy Advance SP. No, not the Micro…the SP. The difference? Now the SP has a backlit screen that can toggle its brightness with the light on/off switch. A few places are reporting this as fact, but Im still waiting for an offical confirmation before I run out and trade in my SP for a new version.

Also, its only available in the new Graphite and Pearl Blue colors. Im not sure about Nintendo’s reasoning behind this though. Id much rather have a SP, which I consider the best handheld of all time, than a Micro if the screen is going to be comparable.

In other Game Boy news, there is now a Game Boy emulator up and running for iPods. And if you dont want to go that small, how about a four foot tall Game Boy?
