haha, oh man, Tingle=Richard Simmons? That’s the funniest thing ever.

But I thought they said Tingle wouldn’t be in this one since he wasn’t very popular among people? Oh well.

I think this is the Richard Simmons your thinking about: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0799873/

In an EGM interview, it was said that Tingle would not be in TP… indeed.

I’m confident that this is a completely different Richard Simmons.

Those Mario Kart videos are painful to watch. That driver needs to learn to powerslide!

“In an EGM interview, it was said that Tingle would not be in TP… indeed.”

He said in the interview that he was THINKING about it. Maybe the response to that interview was so strong that he changed his mind?

Mario Kart looks great, it looks like they’ve taken all the best from the GBA, SNES and N64 versions.

“Didnt Aonuma say that the americans didnt like Tingle so they had to find another figure ?”

Yeah, so he said he was CONSIDERING doing so. He didn’t say outright, “I am getting rid of Tingle”. He put up Tingle as an example of something that Americans didn’t respond to well, and said that he might do something to change that.

But maybe he ultimately decided to let Tingle stay. I mean, Japan probably LOVES the guy. And maybe enough Americans sent feedback to Nintendo going “KEEP TINGLE KEEP TINGLE”. Who knows.

Wolflink, are you even old enough to grip the immense cultural parallels that Tingle represents?!

This is scholarly, not some kind of “video game”.

I think Tingle is a good fellow. I really enjoyed his character in Majora’s Mask, not so much in Wind Waker, although the GBA feature was brilliant

Mario Kart DS looks incredible. I cannot wait for it–I have a feeling it might be the greatest Mario Kart ever.

From what I remembered they said that Americans didn’t really like Tingle so they may have to find a different character for a GBA/GCN link if they do so again, so he may still be there, to the like or dislike of fans all around.
