Hello Player 1
[Now Playing| Meteos - DS]
Some interesting news out of Famitsu claims that Polarium is headed to the GBA. The game will be without the challenge mode but will make up for it with triple the puzzles of the original. A little strange considering how important the stylus was for the game. Still, with the addition of some new modes and new color tiles, this could end up being better than the DS version.

OMFG NO

I suppose you only need the d-pad.
btnheazy03 on July 27, 2005 at 10:56 pm
Aa.
Gameplay would definitely slow down with the dpad (read: clunky), but if you ask me, I’d take more content in exchange of touch screen controls. Damn, i got milked ..
(TTYTT Polarium DS didn’t catch my attention for long)

yeah, well puzzle was awesome, but challenge was way to hard imo.
so i’ll probly end up buying this. wouldn’t it be cool if it were an expansion instead?

If you could use it in conjunction with the DS Polarium, that would be just great. It could be used as an expansion to the DS version but still be a standalone game for GBA only users. I’d imagine there would be some sort of bonus in the DS version for having the GBA version plugged in the bottom.

Yeah, I wouldn’t see why an expansion for Polarium DS wouldn’t be possible. They’re doing it with Band Brothers, so why not?

JR – That’s a brilliant idea, could you please go and suggest it to Nintendo?
Are there other games that’d work with?
btnheazy03 on July 28, 2005 at 1:43 am
Better still: A cartridge that can be used standalone with a GBA, and as an expansion pack when used in conjunction with Polarium DS. Brilliant!

Funny, I liked challenge mode.
Puzzle mode was great too, but even with many more puzzles I don’t think it would be too good a purchase, without challenge.

JR — for that to work, the DS version would have to have been designed with the expansion in mind. I doubt that happened. About the only thing the GBA version could do is upload more puzzles to the DS version.
All that aside, I wonder if this game will be part of Digitylish (ugh, I hate that name)? http://www.n-sider.com/newsview.php?type=story&storyid=1024

Time to wait for Polarium 2 then on DS! Still don’t have a DS so I can’t complain…
Zooba on July 28, 2005 at 4:36 pm
Zigg: I doubt it. This Polarium 2 seems like a full fledged game, not the short mini-games that appear in the (way cool) Digitylish Stylish games.
Anyway, I’m goinmg to be waiting for this one.
