Great news from the San Diego Comicon continues to roll in. During the DC Batman panel it was announced that Paul Pope, one of my personal favorites, will be creating a new Batman graphic novel called Batman: Year 100. This should be amazing. I loved Pope’s take on Batman in Black & White, which was one of the more original and human takes on the character Ive seen. Ill be reserving this as soon as my comic shop gets news of it.

Let me get this straight, from the pic and the name of the novel, I suppose Batman will be 100 years old?
Nick on July 14, 2005 at 6:39 pm
Not sure. Could be simply about Batman in a future time or…dont know. They didnt say anything about it other than the announcement.

The concept image DEFINITELY looks like Batman’s 100 years old. From the mouth, you can tell that he’d look as old as ass if he took off his mask. Also, check out his posture, the look as if he’s somewhat fatigued, and his not-quite-up-to-par buffness.
If it IS about a really old Bruce Wayne, well, it’s kind of been done before (Dark Knight Returns, Batman Beyond at least kinda), but I’m sure it’ll be awesome.

What’s up with that image?! It looks like Batman is shoving a yard o’ beef up his bathole…

Lol…I didnt even see that, but now that you mention it…damn optical illusions!
