Yeah…as you can tell, I dont have much to say about it. Clearly Im not the target market for the ad…but I do have an interest in the game. Im not sure this ad will sell the game very well to anyone over the age of 8.
Get rid of Colin.
I think the ad is okay. I hate the whole Maturity vs. Nintendo thing. What is so great about killing? What is wrong with cute little fat ass Kirby?
No, I have nothing wrong with it, it’s just that the whole point of the game is that you are drawing the rainbows and kirby ROLLS on them, not walks on them, like a regular kirby game.
Personally, I LOVE kirby games, I have no problems with him … er… it. Kirby was also my best character in SSB64.
I just like, for instance, the Yoshi TAG ad more, it had high WTF factors, much like our new spammer in residence, Colin.
If they wanted to go the “mature” route… they could’ve used the boxart from the JAP version of the game for an ad. I realize that the “Kirby” brand needs coherency here (reason for the logo… matches the cartoon shows logo) but still. The boxart from the JAP game is a lot more mordern and pleasing to the eye. I know I’ll be printing one out when I get my US version of the game.

Ugh, I don’t like it… It should show Kirby as a ball and emphasize the rolling feature, that IS the most important part of the game.
Otherwise, not bad.

O the colors, I think Kirby needs to lay off the cronic…

Nice ad. Definitely American, but a lot better than the box art. I like it. It makes me wanna play the game, and that’s a good thing.

I thought this DS ad was actually totally awesome.
Harukio on May 27, 2005 at 7:52 am
The only problem is that there’s no way in hell anyone would play that using their finger.

Its box art people. Get over it.

never judge a book by its cover…judge it by its blurb…which is usually on the cover but sometimes it appears on the inside

Bah…I just don’t like rainbows. It would be cooler if you drew something like Dark Matter with sparklies in it.
But the ad is pleasing to the eye even though it will turn off more people than it will turn on.
drGherbik on May 27, 2005 at 2:52 pm
Leave rainbows alone.
Rainbows and unicorns rule.
I think people will be just fine with it. I couldn’t imagine Kirby any other way.
