Hello Player 1

I love Boktai. Its a wonderful concept that was executed superbly and brought something fresh to gaming. Kojima, father of Metal Gear if you didnt know, has dropped a little info on this next iteration of his pet project…this time on the DS. Aw yeah!
Gamespot: Speaking of Boktai, how do you see the series evolving to fit either the DS or PSP?
Kojima: We are not thinking about PSP actually, but for DS, yes we already have this in the plan, and we have surprises that you can never imagine. And I can’t tell you right now what the surprise is, but we do have a big trick up our sleeve, and you are sure to be surprised.

Was this the GBA game where you had to collect light?
Either way I believe him that he has something special up his sleeve.

Yeah, this was the game with the light sensor. 1 & 2 are already out for the GBA and 3 will be out soon. However, he is making it sound like there will be something even cooler than the light meter. Either way, the light meter, mixed with 2 screens, touchscreen and maybe the mic have me pretty excited.

I’m guessing Boktai DS will be one of the first DS games to come out with a ‘GBA Option Pack’ like described a couple articles down. In this case a light sensor obviously, I’m hoping other developers come up with come cool ideas too.

Heh heh, he could use the mic as a scream sensor and collect screams. That would make you look like a wierdo on the bus for sure.

Hmmm…sounds promising

yeah, I wonder how this one’s going to work. The DS has no solar panel so if they’re still going with the light gimmick then they’ll definitey need a GBA slot expansion. Though I wouldn’t think that will be Kojima’s suprise. This guy is so insane I know he’s got something interesting hiding in the shadows.
uhh, no pun intended.

i have a question. why does nintendo keep on insisting that the ds is not the follow up to the gba, rather this “Third pillar”? I mean come on. every single hit game for the gba is getting a sequel on the ds.
Nick Luckett on May 23, 2005 at 8:47 am
Yeah, Im wondering what they are going to do to differentiate the two once the Game Boy Evolution comes out.
drGherbik on May 23, 2005 at 11:29 am
Nintendo keeps insiting the DS is the ‘third pillar’ because from a marketing standpoint, it is seperate from the GBA and GC. Whether games come out for both systems isn’t an issue within this strategy.

This is sweet!!!!!!!!!!!! I own the ones for gba and love both of them #5 on my best game list, this is going to be the best game ever, but one question how will the solar sensor work for DS???
