Spartan: Total Warrior

With many 3rd parties abondoning the Gamcube ship faster than rats, its nice to see a high profile game making its way to the system. Segas Spartan: Total Warrior is one such game.

In Spartan you take up the roles as…well, a Spartan. Im not sure how heavily the game will focus on story, but the main concept is that you have to kick some major Roman butt. And youll be kicking a lot of it.

Spartans developer is boasting that there will be more than 180 highly detailed characters on screen at a time. Some of those characters will be on your side, as there is a squad based element to the game. While the majority of your time will be spent laying bloody waste to Roman soldiers yourself, you can also command your units to attack.

Luckily, youll also have the Greek gods on your side. Depending on your situation certain gods will help you by performing devastating attacks on the enemies. The fighting system also allows you to dual weild swords, hammers and of course a shield if you think you need one.

Anyway, Im pretty excited for this game. I love Gladiator type movies and games. I really liked the Lucas Arts game Gladius, but there just wasnt enough killling. Spartan: Total Warrior sounds right up my alley.
