New DS Game To Be Announced At E3

I just received my list of E3 floor/hands-on write-up assignments. I’m slightly put out that those bums at EGM swiped my hands-on time with Castlevania DS, but there’s definitely enough goodness to make up for it. Specifically, among the titles I’m set to cover is a previously-unannounced DS game that is going to make a whole lot of people happy.
There’ll be more info on it next week, but for now what I’m saying is that if you haven’t picked up a DS yet, you should hurry along.
What could it be? Super Smash Brothers DS? StarFox DS? PilotWings DS? SimCity DS? Kid Icarus DS? Perfect Dark DS? Killer Instinct Gold DS? Diablo DS? WarCraft DS? Britney Spears Touch Me DS? Post your ideas, I’m spent.

Metroid ahs already been announced. Maybe they will announce Online support for it though.
Earthbound was too cult to get a lot of people excited, though I would surely purchase it.

or OOT DS !!!! last year was mario64 DS, OOT DS will sell like hell, think of it, they can add some features to the touch screen and a couple of danjons and there you go!!! nintendo did it again….

Ocarina of Time does sound like a grand idea. I would love to play it again while laying in bed or on the train. This leads me to a question though: How much data can be stored on a DS cart as compared to an N64 cart? If it is a lot more, would it possible to do an OOT/Majora’s Mask twofer? Wanna talk about selling like hotcakes…..

I think DS carts can hold up to 128megabytes (1gigabit). I’m pretty sure both Zeldas could fit on a single cart but why would nintendo do that?

Giving the potential 4 swords zelda game being made for DS, i doubt they’d also port OOT.

It’s pretty obvious what it WON’T be: A port, like OOT. As much flack as N caught for Mario64, they won’t make a “port” as their big announcement. It also won’t be any cool, yet under-the-radar, game like Earthbound or anything else. It sounds like it’s a title that would convince even non-N lovers to buy the DS; a title that would get a PSX or XBox fanboy to buy it. I’m thinking something like GTA (to which Nintendo does have portable rights to), Psychonauts, or possibly even an MMORPG.
It’s going to be something you would never think it would be. I also doubt it’s SSB, as while that’s a great game, it’s not the “killer app” that would make someone who doesn’t have a DS, go out and buy it.

Cory I disagree about Smash Brothers. Maybe I have an odd group of friends, but SSB is without a doubt that killer app that would make them go out and get DS. I am going to get a DS sometime anyway, not sure when, but it will definitely be in time for SSB.
