I got this image from one of the 4cr readers. Could this be the media format the revolution support? Or maybe just another hoax?
We have been talking about it on irc, here are some interesting quotes:
[roadies] the double O on the Nintendo RS logo is actually part of the DS trademark. The RS may be part of the DS devkit
[roadies] it could even be HD content for display at E3
Another one for the rumor bin, that we will be able to confirm or deny at E3.

Nintendofreak - 05.08.05 6:23 pm
This is probably nothing more than a DVD with video footage on it.
drGherbik - 05.08.05 6:28 pm
oh curse you you have no faith in nintendo like i do
Nintendofreak - 05.08.05 6:29 pm
what does the S stand for then?
luigi7667 - 05.08.05 6:31 pm
Nintendo Revolutionary System duh i first saw that and i got it in my head
Nintendofreak - 05.08.05 6:33 pm
Howabout Revolution Software
Anyway, perhaps this is just a DVD, although the HD part refers to HighDef, which the Revolution will be in, right?
Daedalus - 05.08.05 6:44 pm
I’m wondering that too. If the Revolution uses HD media that’d be awesome.
drGherbik - 05.08.05 6:46 pm
If that does prove legit, I am more interested in the two overlapping ‘O’s. Perhaps that has something to do with the 3D Steroscopic stuff. Or whatever it was.
VideoGamerJ - 05.08.05 6:50 pm
you could be right yeah revolution software that sound good and it will be hi def you are right we will see in 9 days at e3 im going to watch it at g4 tech tv i cant wait. ps click my name to see my web site^ ^

For internal use only?
Nintendo RS is not for everyone. If oily discharge occurs, stop taking Nintendo RS and contact Dr. Mario immediately.
Zork - 05.08.05 7:22 pm
haha when it is at e3 im going to use my tivo to save the emage and upload it to my computer and use it as my background ha brilliant just brilliant hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaa hahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
Nintendofreak - 05.08.05 7:29 pm
Interesting. Too bad we can’t really deduce anything from this much less decide whether it’s real or not. All it’s going to do is drive us crazy with curiousity.
Haha, and you gotta love Nintendofreak.
hokku - 05.08.05 7:45 pm
interesting, but anyone could cook this up at home with a cd lable printer, or light scribe.
Kydd - 05.08.05 8:14 pm
yes yes u got to luv me im a nintendo freak ha ha but it could be real i mean u know lets face the facts off topic:x box 360 has been rev ealed www.engadget.com
Nintendofreak - 05.08.05 8:23 pm
JamesMontagna, where did you get this from anyway?
VideoGamerJ - 05.08.05 8:25 pm
yeah yeah where did he get it matbe he took the pic maybe he wants us to tur on each other im not going first but maybe he searched the web hard for this bad boy but i found the fake version of it.
Nintendofreak - 05.08.05 8:30 pm
What’s the big deal? It’s just a disc.
A rather ugly disc, at that.
greg - 05.08.05 9:35 pm
Im betting this is totally fake. It is is real, all it probably is is a developer tool. Like how the gamecube games are burned onto DVD for testing. Plus, its very unlikely that Nintendo will go without some form of proprietary media.
Nick - 05.08.05 10:06 pm
Nintendo Reality System (Surround Vision where available)
norebonomis - 05.08.05 11:31 pm
Notice how Nintendo opted to use HD-DVD instead of Blu-Ray? HAH
btnheazy03 - 05.09.05 12:05 am
Nintendo didn’t opt to do anything yet. This could very easily be a fake.
drGherbik - 05.09.05 12:11 am
easily faked, no doubt someone just made this cd with some sort of cd labeler…
enfilade - 05.09.05 12:38 am
Yeah, but the mere usage of a $ony competitor gave it “authentic” points.. Maybe Mini-HD-DVD for Revolution?
btnheazy03 - 05.09.05 12:55 am
Yeah, this could EASILY be a LightScribe job. Anyone could do it. However, I like the idea of the Revolution being tied so closely to the DS.
snyper256 - 05.09.05 2:00 am
I heard the revolution was going to be a wireless hotspot for the DS.
btnheazy03 - 05.09.05 2:47 am
And LightScribe has a brown-ish hue .. that logo was pure black.
btnheazy03 - 05.09.05 2:48 am
Total, complete fake. The genius who made this forgot that HD DVD as an official format is in total limbo a the moment–looks like it and Bluray will somehow be combined. However, the logo logo with the overlapping screens is a pretty clever nod to the whole patent mystery a few months back.
namor7 - 05.09.05 3:35 am
Must be a fake:
A) Nintendo are big on tiny load times (hence mini discs for GC) - it is more likely to be a tiny HD format
B) What the frell are the lines for?? It makes it look like a cheap DVD-R
Alex Ford - 05.09.05 5:15 am
if this is for real, it’s just an internal hd-dvd, as you can see the line say: for internal use only. Maybe it is to test a game
Fuzzy - 05.09.05 5:37 am
I have 2 Comments on this….
Photoshop
And CD Label Kit.
Krono6 - 05.09.05 7:00 am
oh shut up like i said earlyer nintendo made this probably Nintendo Revolutionary System,or Nintendo Revolution Software ok ok.
Nintendofreak - 05.09.05 8:17 am
Well. I think NINTENDOFREAKS witty retort put that one to rest.
drGherbik - 05.09.05 9:00 am
Oh noes! Nintendo RuneScape!
Dejital - 05.09.05 9:45 am
lol, good one dejital
CoffeeMan - 05.09.05 10:01 am
just be quiet we will see in 8 days at e3 im going o watch it and act if i was there and take pictures nintendo revolution software or nintendo revolutionary system
Nintendofreak - 05.09.05 12:23 pm
the hd dvd format is not official yet , so how can nintendo use it, since it does not exist yet, my opinion tatally fake, i can make a better cd labeling in 5 minutes …..
SILVERSURFER - 05.09.05 12:35 pm
ok. you’ve got 5 minutes. go to work.
drGherbik - 05.09.05 12:55 pm
NAMOR7 is completely right. HD-DVD isn’t even an official form of media, and BluRay is “merging” with HD-DVD so nobody knows what the next form of media will be called.
If it weren’t for the HD-DVD logo, it might be believable.
