[Now Playing| Polarium - DS]
It seems as if this Aries character who has been posting rumors on the Broken Saints blog is not as creditable as many made him out to be.In the most recent MailBag on Cube.IGN.com, IGNs’ Matt Casamassina has spilled the beans on what he thinks about Aries.
Honestly, this Aries guy is a fake. But I have to give to him: he’s a pretty good one. He’s definitely on top of the industry and some of his predictions — guesses, even — are logical. He’s made an accurate guess or two about certain things not related to Revolution. And he remains just vague enough in most cases to perpetuate his credibility.
This may come as a surprise to many, even I thought Aries was genuine in most of his speculation, but some things are too good to be true, I geuss we have nothing left to do but to wait for E3
.

aries never intended for matt to prove or dis prove him, i personally think matt said that to quell and inquiry by posters on his mail bag. aries said wait till e3 and so be it, it is the bes twe can do. besides the stuff he said wasn’t far fetched so we know there are some possiblities to his tails.

fullmetalpwnz0r - 05.04.05 9:49 pm

Bull True - 05.04.05 10:00 pm
I want to believe everything he said is true, that would be my dream come true. let’s wait for E3

Well, he did a good job, but I know that nobody at NOA does that much. NDA or not, word gets around easily if its something this big.

Well I may or may not be getting drunk by myself listening to koji kondo ocarina of time tracks and feeling nostalgic and sorry for myself. But all of that is beside the point. Aries. Is he real or not? I guess that is also moot given all(most?some?) will be revealed in a couple of weeks. I want Nintendo to succeed. Exist rather. I don’t care what place they are in because who the hell cares? As long as they can exist and make consoles and games I am happy. Actually I kind of like nintendo as underdog. I remember being a kid and getting into SNES/Genesis arguments and altho the arguments got heated noone in their right mind actually BELIEVED Genesis had the better games(uh oh if I pissed anyonne off) SNES was legendary. Now if ANYONE finds out I like video games I have to change the subject for fear of getting into an argument. The term “fanboy” is idiotic. But lets just say that, as fans of nintendo, on the average, the other systems don’t make the kind of stuff we enjoy. I watch my roommates play grand theft auto and it blows my mind. They never get tired of doing the same things over and over. “Wow watch me kill this old lady!”. These are “adult” games? I thought adult content meant having to use your brain(well that and cinemax after dark on friday nights). Oh god who gives a shit. I am going to meander a bit because I couldnt find any post to adequately post under. I think Nintendo is doing a good thing. They arnt shooting for techgeeks and hip people. They are shooting for our moms and aunts and people that have never really played agame in their entire life because it just seemed too confusing and too much of an undertaking, YET the gaming industry rakes in millions and millions of dollars from these people because they are the ones that pay money to play those games online like popping the bubbles and all of that nonsense. They WANT to game but don’t really seem like it is for them. My aunt is constantly asking me to see my DS and check it out. Once Nintendogs is out, if marketed properly, might be the first game to really get those people into the fold. I’ve already convinced people to buy a DS just based on the IDEA of nintendogs, let alone the finished product. I dont know. Revolution I can’t even think about anymore. Maybe it will be a neverending pizza topped with diamond pepperonis. who knows.

Yeah, Nintendo, since after the SNES, has been considered conservative. The thing is though, I don’t care. It doesn’t affect me. I enjoy their products and nobody elses, and whether or not the mainstream market likes them, it doesn’t matter. I like them and I know many people who like them. Maybe it’s the hardcore gamers? Not those who are so enticed by GTA clones and Halo this and that.
Nintendo can stay their ways and I will be happy, but they stated at last years e3 that they will no longer do this, so I suppose if they do open up to a larger market, it works fine for me. Whether I am playing with Power, Super Power or something from the beyond, it’s definately going to be by Nintendo and that’s the clearest and most significant point.

One thing that makes me angry though. I heard a quote from Bill Gates who had the nerve to say that his console is in a strong second place. That’s bullshit. While the Xbox has pushed ahead of the GameCube after Halo 2, there is no strong lead. The only strong lead is Sony and it has at least 50 million more units (PS2) than the Xbox and GameCube. Still, Nintendo did EXTREMELY well with the GBA and the GBA SP by the ignorant analysts don’t even factor that in. Oh that doesn’t matter. Blah blah blah, Nintendo’s going to go bankrupt and Mario will be on the PS2. Argh.
After Zelda I wouldn’t be suprised if the GameCube passes the Xbox in sales, but of course the media would deny it with pretend numbers that contradict the actual sales.
Kudos for me to flaming rock hard and swaying off topic.
VideoGamerJ - 05.05.05 2:34 am
How dare Bill Gates ‘market’ his product. That bastard.
drGherbik - 05.05.05 8:46 am
I don’t think a professional who works in a videogaming studio will do such things and reveal details.. unless it was planned !!? but i admit that this Aries guy is realy aware of the business.
SILVERSURFER - 05.05.05 11:38 am
He was lying. Xbox isn’t that far ahead of GameCube in sales. He pushes aside Nintendo so easily.
VideoGamerJ - 05.05.05 7:35 pm
Nintendo got me into videogames, and they will always be the one company that gives me the games i love. I would never have had great experiences like Zelda OoT or Mario 64 if it were not for Nitty. Seriously, in the market the GC was a failur, but there are some great games, some great exclusives, and although they arn’t pumping out games monthly, when they do give one out its usually a top quality firstparty game. I still love my GC, and im sure the REV will deliver even if it doesn’t have all this stuff that is going around on the net.
Kydd - 05.05.05 7:48 pm
You guys should realise that the longer time goes the more legit aries seems. and by the way the rev will probably be more powerful than the xbox
