Employees of EB Games are reporting that Nintendo is going to stop bundling Metroid Prime Hunters with the DS.
Nothing official has been announced as to why this would be, but I can imagine it would save Nintendo some money. Plus, Nintendo said that since they packed a game with the system they think they lost out on some game sales. Either way, its pictochat only for buyers once the current crop of DS kits run out.

I know most people like Hunters, but it’s honestly the only thing I don’t really care for about my DS. I don’t mind the controls, it just feels/sounds/plays nothing like a Metroid game whatsoever. I sure hope they turn it into an ACTUAL Metroid game–ambience/isolation/exploration–in the remaining months.

I agree with Namor7, Metroid Prime Hunters is not a Metroid, is something diferent but with a metroid looking. Of course that was made for comercial reasons but sincerely I would have prefer it to be a new fanchine a completely new fanchine, an in house created FPS from Nintendo…
But that´s what we have..
And besides that, I am sure that Metroid Prime Hunters will be a great game.

Dave…
Interesting topic… I’m working in this industry myself and I don’t agree about this in 100%, but I added your page to my bookmarks and hope to see more interesting articles in the future…
