The first screen shots and some more info has surfaced on ElectroPlankton. The game, which will ship in just over a month, seems to resemble Seaman more than Band Brothers. In the game you will use the touch screen and the mic to influence the plankton. Im not sure what they can or will do, but its almost like virtual sea monkeys.
The graphics are nice and stylized and this sounds like it could be pretty cool. However, Im not sure if there is an actual game here, or just a little virtual pet to play with. I hope it at least has some goals and objectives.
Head over to Gamespot for a little more info:

this sounds like it could be a fun little application/science fun kit.
if it’s as much fun has playing with sea monkeys was, i’m sold.

Someone posted this in my forums:
TOKYO–According to retail sources, Nintendo will soon announce a new DS game created with the input of Japanese multimedia artist Toshio Iwai, best known for his Famicom music game, Otocky (1987). Called Electroplankton, the game is slated for release in Japan on April 7 at the price of 4,800 yen ($46).
Electroplankton is categorized as a “touchable media art” game that presents the player with “soothing music” and graphics on the DS’s two screens. The game features 10 “digital planktons” that generally “float” but also respond to gamers when they touch the screen or use the microphone. The planktons react by making different gestures and sounds of their own.
While details on gameplay are scarce, it’s known that Electroplankton will include a number of classic 8-bit Famicom melodies, including those from Super Mario Bros.
The game will also have an “audience mode” in which it creates new musical tunes on its own. Electroplankton is slated to come bundled with a pair of high-quality headphones.
