Here is a short article I found about Nintendo in the American marketplace. While it makes some valid points, I have to say that things are looking up for Nintendo. They seem intent on reaching a large demographic, voilence-crazed Americans included. Not only that, but they arent resting on their laurels, instead taking the initiative and creating new and compelling ways to play games.
Sure, they still have a long way to go to reclaim thier crown, but Im confident they can & will do it.
I read that article like 2 weeks ago. It was crap then, it’s crap now. I would give reasons, but I cant be bothered to re-read that crap.

Haha. Which is exactly why I posted it. People seem to think that they can spout off about Nintendo, yet they never make any good points.

I agree. It’s not that Nintendo are infallable, but that most people never seem to bring up valid faults of theirs. They mostly just point out how they aren’t pandering to the largest consumer bracket like everybody else using violence and sensory overload and aimless hype and name-calling etc, etc, etc. And it’s an IGNCube thang, for pompous “journalists” like the editors of that site are ever-guilty of perpetuating it.

What maturity. Kudos to Nintendo for not taking the economically conservative ‘we’ll make anything as long as you buy it’ path like Microsoft and Sony to satisfy guys like this, but actually trying to do things differently. Oh, and for still creating plug and play games that busy adults can play without signing their lives away.

The adult gaming market is all about REALITY or even BIGGER than reality. REAL live is full of violance and sex! You think not? Wacth the TV news sometimes. For games to caputrue adult aduiences they have to make games even bigger than real live - more intense if you will. The drive is to give the player a chance to influnace events in a game world where they would normally never have any eveft in the real world.
