[Now Going| To Bed]
First, this video is Not Safe For Work. Also, dont complain to me about posting it, I warned ya! It doesnt really show anything, but just to be on the safe side, watch it at home.
I dont think they would ever get away with such a scandalous commercial over here. And its actually on the official Nintendo of Europe site. Craziness.
*Update: The link must have gone down right after I posted this. Not sure if it was because of traffic or something else. However, here is another link:

French adverts have a lot more nudity in them that English ones, so it is conceivable that it would get aired by Ninty. I remember a similar debate about showing a mother breast-feeding her baby in cinema adverts, but that advert was to encourage the practise, not to sell a gory computer game.
I am presuming that the Americans would object to that scene, not the one where he is gunning down a bunch of zombies
Christian Richard - 02.10.05 5:57 pm
Exactly, Americans would go crazy over seeing a little bit of skin. Show all the killing you like though.
Nick Luckett - 02.10.05 6:12 pm
Nintendo is teh mature!
Andrew Thai - 02.10.05 8:06 pm
that commercial’s nasty as all getout. that’s maybe sicker than the chick who comes out of the bathtub in the shining.
namor7 - 02.10.05 11:41 pm
That was a really weird commercial, but European commercials tend to be very different than American commercials.
Matt - 02.11.05 1:24 am
I dont get what’s so SHOCKING about this commercial? Is it supposed to be the nudity? The fact that a zombie is holding a baby? If you were shocked by that commercial, then you probably got crazed with rage that Janet Jackson’s nipple came out on live TV. (LOL (the way that Americans and all the politicians on TV reacted was embarassing and funny))
I think the commercial was a Symbolism thing. Like the Zombie was portrayed as the “Mother of all Evil” or something to that effect. The commercial was interesting to see, because Euro-Comm.’s are SO different from Western commercials especially American. It’s just like Nick said “Show a quick glance at a nipple…………BIG UPROAR. Show somebody repeatiadly killing and shooting things ………………………..(No reponse)
BlackToe - 02.11.05 3:59 am
I think the shock is supposed to be just because it shocks you, like a jarring shock, like when the zombie BREAKS THROUGH THE WINDOW for the millionth time. That kind of shock
Azazello - 02.11.05 6:14 am
not particularly shocking, although i didn’t have the sound on. what was a bit spooky was that, right at the end, where the zombie’s face pops up, my computer restarted itself, losing a morning’s work… doh
vince - 02.11.05 6:23 am
Brilliant ad. Shat my pants. Those Capcom dudes make good ads. Crazy fucks.
DC - 02.11.05 6:50 am
That has to be the wierdest thing I’ve ever seen. I still don’t get how the breast feeding pertains to RE4, though. :p
Joseph Valencia - 02.11.05 8:13 am
I’m not saying that it was shocking or ‘bad’ or something. who cares that the woman’s naked and stuff. It’s just a commercial that I have no desire to watch again. That has to be one of the CHEAPEST scares I’ve ever seen. Does not in the slightest make me wanna go out and buy Resident Evil 4.
namor7 - 02.11.05 9:01 am
Yeah okay, that commercial is fucked up. Not as fucked up as Janet Jacksons nipple though.
Matt Luckett - 02.11.05 12:11 pm
that didnt even show anything, americans are just too up tight and gay about nude women. the baby was hidding the nipples so its not like they showed anything.
shibby - 02.14.05 10:02 pm
I think that this commercial ROCKED!!! and im american, its not really shocking…its cool. Good job euroS!
