[Now Cursing| The Fate Of DS Online]

Well, this is unfortunate. The people over at X-Link have given up trying to tunnel the DS, at least for now.Since I considered them the best hope, this is very disheartening. I really hope Warppipe has something up its sleeve.
Go hear to read the news:
X-Link Thread
Not all is lost though, there are still some very talented people working on tunneling and/or modding the DS. If you want to help out the rest of the DS mod community, donate some CPU cycles to DarkFader:
DS Crack
*UPDATE: The first phase of DarkFaders DS cracking has been completed. Ill let you know when he makes the call for more help and CPU cycles.

How did I know they would choke.

Agreed. You just had a feeling it was coming because of the lack of updates over the past few weeks, and Xlink was CLEARLY looking to shove away the crazy DS fanbase for at least a short time, if not forever. In fact, I wouldn’t be darn surprised if they really pulled the project because of those crazy people. They made guarantees and got at least Metroid to work, and that’s why people were getting overly excited.
Whatever the case, I am sorely disappointed that they couldn’t pull it off. They were pretty much the only ones that had something going (unlike Warp Pipe which continues to mystify us with Demasked). Methinks it will be up to Nintendo themselves now (for future games at the very least).

They really come off as pricks to me. They act like they are uber superior to everyone else, and then choke. AND THEN, they only offer their code up to people they deem worthy. What the hell is that. Closed source is so selfish.
Assholes.

it actually makes sense that way. i mean, if they just gave it to anyone, we’d see a lot more Team Nitros out there. no one wants more Team Nitros. a bunch of kids who have ideas but don’t know how to make them work…saying ‘we’ll have the ds online in 2 weeks and it will support every router.’ i’d rather have no hope than a lot of false hope.
demasked can also suck it. they release cryptic crap (that i’m doubting the relavance of) every month or two, delay it one, twice, and now they say not even by e3. i’ll praise it when i see results. till then, they should just stfu. i’m getting tired of reporting all this crap on my site so i’m calling shenanigans till we see something that actually exists.
if nintendo doesn’t at least announce an online plan by e3, i’m going to be a lot less enthusiastic about the ds.
