Remember this? Nintendo filed for a patent and announced a camera a few months ago. Everyone thought it would be a Gamecube EyeToy type of thing, but we still havent see anything. I truly thought this was going to be the secret device that was going to be bundled with Mario Party 6, but that turned out to be a microphone.

On a side note, Nintendo announced that the technology they used for the microphone is available to all developers. This willingness to push the microphone for the Gamecube and the DS also makes me think that there will be one on the Revolution.

Anyway, its looking more likely that the camera will be something for the Revolution. Nintendo has said that the EyeToy was something they should have developed. If you think about it, it really is the type of thing we would typically see from Nintendo. I could also see having a Mario Paint type of application that was ‘Mario Director’ for making your own movies or something crazy.

Guess we will know more come May 17th.
